PROGRAM: Volunteer and Student Services

MENTORSHIP EXPERIENCE TITLE: Content Developer and Social Media Assistant

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • To provide support for the Volunteer and Student Services department with social media and outreach activities.
  • The mentee is encouraged to on a regular basis in develop self reflective practices, to incorporate his/her learning and career development process within this role.

STAFF MENTOR:

1. RR ITP Program Facilitator

RESPONSIBILITIES/COMMITMENT:

  • Develop a personal work plan for the three month period.
  • To communicate with ITP Mentorship Program Facilitator on a regular basis
  • To attend debriefing sessions and meetings with staff mentor
  • To adhere to Pinecrest-Queensway Health and Community Services Policy and Procedures
  • To attend peer support meetings bi-weekly

With staff mentor support to assist with:

  • Day-to-day community management of social platforms including daily activity moderation on social properties
  • Content creation and planning to build social brand advocacy and engagement programs across various social media channels to generate positive brand experience
  • Develop and analyze all social media KPIs; review and report on effectiveness of campaigns
  • Manage and protect brand perceptions online through active listening and appropriate escalation
  • Stay up-to-date on social media trends, platform changes, best practices as well as competitive landscape and communicate industry news and trends
  • Research and apply marketing strategies using social media
  • Engage in virtual chats with potential followers

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

Program Requirements

  • Been in Canada five years or less
  • Professional training/experience from another country
  • No Canadian work experience in his/her field of expertise
  • A minimum of two years of work experience in his/her field of expertise outside of Canada
  • A commitment to all program requirements and his/her career development
  • Non judgemental of clients culture, financial or personal situation
  • Willingness to work as a team (sharing observations, constructive feedback, asking questions)

Placement Requirements

  • Creative, innovative and resourceful
  • Quit learner and independent
  • Strong research, writing and analytical skills
  • Good command of English
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with social community management across multiple social platforms( You Tube , Twitter, LinkedIn ,Facebook)
  • HTML knowledge and/or Word press Knowledge a plus

LOCATION: 1365 Richmond Road.Pinecrest Queensway Community Health Centre

TIME REQUIRED: 12 hours week. 3 months.

Attend and participate in the 2 hour peer support network sessions.

Schedule: To be discussed with staff mentors (flexible)
