Program Mission and Goals

WHL provides opportunities for clients to break cycles of chemical addiction and achieve a healthy and sober lifestyle for the benefit of client, families and communities.

The outcome of the mission, by offering combined treatment programming and housing, is measured by successful program completion, independent community reintegration based on individual strengths and needs.

The goal of WHL is to provide a supportive, structured, substance free environment, to individuals who exhibit a pattern of substance abuse or dependence, either gender, 18 years of age or older.

WHL is staffed and operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. WHL offers ample training and continuing education for staff, to promote best practice of care provided.

The program strives to achieve its mission in all aspects of its operations, including client screening, curriculum/programming, and budgeting/planning. The staff promotes clients of WHL to their next level of achievement through self reliance and reflection, creating personal responsibility, offering structure and supporting community involvement.

Modalities of group and individual therapy used to achieve client identified goals are: cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement, and motivational interviewing, while reinforced by the philosophy of the12 steps by means of support group meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous/Narcotics Anonymous.

Objectives

·  Transition from professionally directed change to supported community living

·  Enhance client’s ability to cope with daily happenings in natural environment

·  Provide a home like environment where personal interests are developed

·  Structure and guidelines support, invite and maintain clients individual

behavior/difference while being cooperative with roommates, as well as with community laws, to support their individual growth.

Clients who successfully complete program are asked to participate in an exit interview, which provides feedback regarding the clients experience at WHL, in order to gain insight, evaluate programming, measure outcomes of the program objective and mission. Graduates of the program are involved in a 30/60/90 day follow up appointments with a LADC to report their progress, setbacks and achievements since discharging from programming, which also measures the anticipated outcome of the program objectives and missions.
