Program Manager – Right Start for Infant Mental Health

POSITION SUMMARY:Provide administrative oversight as well as clinical and reflectivesupervision to Mental Health Center of Denver’s outpatientinfant mental health program(“Right Start”) to ensure children and families served received excellent clinical care. The infant mental health services provided by the Right Start team include comprehensive dyadic relationship assessment and therapeutic services to young children ages 0-5 and their families as well as women experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The position is responsible to: maintain and enhance ongoing delivery ofoutpatient infant mental health treatment servicesas well as associated community partnerships. Support the ongoing training and development of supervisees as well as the implementation of specialty treatment initiatives. Oversee the management of team operations and work to maximize efficiencies while insuring the highest quality of care possible for the individuals we serve as well as the meaningful engagement of staff members.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide clinical, reflective and administrative supervision for infant mental health clinicians.
- Work with individual team members to solve day-to-day clinical issues and to optimize service delivery to meet the needs of theindividuals and families we serve.
- Plan, organize, and manage day-to-day operations of the team.
- Facilitate and manage the hiring process for clinical positions on the team.
- Provide input and feedback regarding individual team member performance in terms of strengths and opportunities for growth. Conduct disciplinary discussions and actions as necessary.
- Coordinate training and foster development of clinical staff to ensure a consistently high quality of care with an emphasis on ongoing growth and learning.
- Insure that standards of quality and efficiency of services and documentation are met.
- Meet with community partners and service providers to ensure consistent stream of appropriate referrals to the team. This may involve the provision of trainings to community members.
- Collaborate with fellow Mental Health Center of Denver programs, community partners, and referral sources through prompt and regular communication to enhance the services offered to those we serve.
- Support the collection of all required outcome, evaluation, and billing data.
- Lead and actively participate in weekly team meetings and clinical supervisions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Directorof Child & Family Outpatient Services and Child & Family Leadership Team.
EDUCATION:Master’s or Doctoral Degree in psychology, social work, or other human services field. LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist licensure required.
EXPERIENCE: At leastfive years in mental health or human service field working with young children and families ages birth-5 years. Two or more years of supervisory and program management experience required.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Self-motivated and directed, demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, have experience with infrastructure development and hold a high value for diversity.
- Ability to establish collaborative partnerships with therapists and fellow community organizations.
- Knowledge and expertise in the realm of clinical and reflective supervision.
- Knowledge and expertise in infant/early childhoodmental health diagnosis (DC:0-3R/DC:0-5), perinatal mental health diagnosis (DSM-V) and parent-infant relational assessments (e.g., Working Model Interview, Crowell play procedure, MIM)
- Training and proficiency in dyadic 0-5 treatment interventions including Child Parent Psychotherapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy and TF-CBT.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed care principles and practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Flexibility, adaptability as well as the ability to focus attention on workflow processes, procedures, budgetary guidelines, and documentation/productivity standards.
- The ability to laugh with others and have a sense of humor.
WORKING CONDITIONS/SCHEDULE: Full-time. Outpatient clinic hours vary by location but include Monday through Thursdays 8am-7pm and Fridays 8am-5pm, some flexibility depending on schedule needs may be possible. May involve some evening or occasional weekend events.
PHYSICAL REQIUREMENTS: Ability to sit, stand, bend and reach, drive, operate standard office equipment such as phone, computer, facsimile, copier/printer, and other business machines. Occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
