Program Coordinator Profile

L’Arche Boston North is part of the International Federation of L’Arche which is in 35 countries with 140 communities around the world. We provide residential services to adults with intellectual disabilities (core members) and have support staff living in the homes as well thus creating home together. We support the growth and development of the core members giving them opportunities both spiritually and experientially. We value living together like a family, forming relationships and sharing the tasks of daily living.

L’Arche Boston North is now hiring a new Program Coordinator. This is a role that supports the mission of L’Arche in meeting the professional requirements for a first-class DDS provider. The right candidate should be someone who can not only ensure that L’Arche continues to exceed the administrative and regulatory expectations of the Department of Disabilities, but also someone who does so with a priority of respecting the rights and choices of each core member.

The Program Coordinatorwill be responsible for supervising, training and mentoring the house managers, nursing and behavioral supports so that excellence is maintained in all areas including;compliance, safety, med administration, record-keeping/documentation, and in all other areas above and beyond what is required by DDS.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with others and building relationships (while driving toward accuracy), who is detail oriented, and who has a heart for our mission.

At essence, the ideal candidate for this role:

  1. Wants to coordinate effectively with DDS.This person can draw from experience in other agencies contracting with DDS.It’s possible this person has had a similar role and has been driven by the desire to be a part of a community.
  1. Is a connector of people– This person is a key facilitator and negotiator between the varying support services involved in the lives of core members. This person works seamlessly with DDS Service Coordinators, Parents/ Guardians, Health Care providers and other support agencies to holistically support individuals.
  1. Has a successful background in managing a team, knows how and when to delegate tasks and takes pride in seeing others succeed.
  1. Is a natural builder – This person is self-motivated and self-directed and has gravitated toward roles that didn’t exist before. This person is one who sees what needs to be done, takes initiative, creates things with minimal resources, handles their own administrative tasks with ease, and truly enjoys getting their hands dirty while figuring out the way forward.
  1. A proactive communicator – This is a person who has worked on teams before, and understands the importance of overcommunicating, speaking up,transparency, and being direct.This person will take the lead in making conversations happen, and always makes sure the right people are at the table to give input.

Role Expectations and Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will serve as the primary liaisonbetweenL’Arche Boston North andDDS and will be part of the L’Arche leadership team.

Candidates MUST have previous experience with the following;

Manage QA reviews– responsible for making sure that all compliance requirements are met in every home.

  • Intake for all referrals.
  • Human Rights coordinator.
  • HCSIS reporting administrator.
  • Supervision for ALTR services including IHS and Shared Living.
  • Coordinates and oversees all required training, certifications and re-certifications.
  • Oversees ISP implementation and further follow-up on goals and objectives documentation on each individual served.
  • Oversees all documentation requirements.
  • Maintenance of MassHealth and SS/SSI.
  • DTA paperwork

Manage Others

  • Participate in hiring, evaluating, and training of house managers and support staff (nurses, clinical supports and behavior consultants).
  • Has had previous experience giving performance reviews to those he/she supports.

Compensation & Benefits. To maintain solidarity with our nonprofit staff members and the people we serve, this role is compensated, with a salary range of $47,000 to 55,000 depending on experience. We can also offer flexibility in work schedule. This is a full-time role with full health benefit coverage, 10 holidays per year and other leave as outlined in the employee handbook.
