Faculty of Health Sciences with Eastern Cape Department of Health wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced employee to support and add value to the outputs of the department. Professor: Paediatrics will be responsible for the teaching under and post graduate students.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate fellowship in paediatrics like FCP/ M Med
- Qualifications in Sub Specialties will be added advantage
- Code 8 drivers licence
Experience
- A minimum of eight (8) years of work related experience of which s/he should have been demonstrated the ability to publish on accredited journal.

•Administration of the Domain of Paediatrics at Executive Managerial Level
•Teaching and Training to produce High quality Health Professional both Undergraduate and postgraduate levels with problem oriented and community based Curriculum is one of the aspect of very important duty
•High level Clinical Service Deliver at NMCH is essential’
•To engage in Research Activities and also encourage Junior colleagues to do relevant research in Paediatrics and its allied Subjects

Skills and Competencies:
•Managerial skills to oversee the Academic and Clinical activities as a supervisory role in the Domain of Paediatrics and Child Health
•Ability to coordinate and govern various Teaching Platforms/ Or satellite teaching areas with regards to Paediatrics (Umtata, EL, PE, QT Campuses)
•Provide Leadership to run the Domain Paediatrics and Child Health very efficiently and effectively in conjunction with Clinical Governance at the hospital and the Dean at the faculty as a join staff establishment member
•To be accountable to the communities of Eastern Cape at large in terms of Paediatric service delivery to their satisfaction
•Able to train Registrars to produce High quality Specialists with good attitude with relevancy to the requirement of the communities
•Implements the policies, protocols of the department Health & WSU. Implement the Batho-Pele Principles and participatory management skills
•Be abreast with latest technology and new changes in the Medical Fraternity
•Conduct programs of continuous Medical Education on a regular basis
