Professor Jim Bishop AO, MD MMed MBBS FRACP FRCPA - Chair

Professor Jim Bishop, a medical oncologist, is the Executive Director of the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre in 2011 and also holds the academic position of Herman Chair of Cancer Medicine, University of Melbourne. Previous to his current role, Professor Bishop was the former Chief Medical Officer for the Australian Government. Prior to this he was founding Chief Executive Officer of the Cancer Institute New South Wales and founding Chief Cancer Officer for New South Wales.

Ms Michelle Ace

Ms Ace is Executive Officer at Canberra Hospital. Ms Ace holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Community Counselling from theUniversity of Canberra. Ms Ace is also a volunteer at the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia, and a member of the Bereavement Network Support Group.

Dr William Glasson AO

Dr Glasson is former Chair of the Cancer Australia Advisory Council from 2005 to 2012. DrGlasson is the former President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists, a former Queensland and Federal AMA President, former Chair of the Queensland Clinical Senate, and former Deputy Chair, Medical Services Advisory Committee.

Ms Keri Huxley OAM

Ms Huxley is a member of the NSW Oncology Group and Cooperative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology. Ms Huxley is a brain cancer advocate and ambassador for the Cancer Council NSW, a founding member of Brain Cancer Awareness Week, and an executive member of Grey Matters.

Professor Dorothy Keefe

Professor Keefe, a medical oncologist, is the Clinical Ambassador for the Transforming Health Initiative in SA Health. Professor Keefe is also a member of the National Cancer Expert Reference Group, the Breast Cancer Network Australia Advisory Board, a member and former president of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer Board of Directors, and a former Clinical Service Director of the SA Cancer Service.

Ms Dianne Rule

Ms Rule is a cancer advocate, publisher, and educator. Ms Rule is a former member of the Australian Prostate Cancer Research Centre Epworth Advisory Board and a director for the James Macready-Bryan Foundation..

Dr Judith Soper

Dr Soper is a radiologist specialising in magnetic resonance imaging at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Medical Centre, and a Visiting Medical Officer for the NSW Bone Tumour Registry at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Soper was a former examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists, and a former member of the Medical Services Advisory Committee and the Health Policy Advisory Committee.

Ms Perry Sperling PSM

Ms Sperling is theChief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor at Latrobe University. As a senior advisor at both Prime Minister and Premier levels, Ms Sperling led and shaped policy development and program administration across Government in areas of social policy including health and aged care.In 2005 she was awarded a Public Service Medal in recognition of her contribution to the development of innovative health care policies.

Professor Robert Thomas OAM

Professor Thomas is the Chief Cancer Advisor to the Victorian State Department of Health and Human Services. Professor Thomas is Co-Chair of the National Cancer Expert Reference Group, a member on the Advisory Board for the Kings College Hospital Global Health Initiative, and is on the Advisory Board for Ecancer medicine, European Institute of Oncology, Milan. Professor Thomas is a former Professor of Surgery at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Western Hospital.

Winthrop Professor George Yeoh

Winthrop Professor Yeoh is the Associate Dean of Research, Faculty of Medicine, and Head, Liver Disease and Carcinogenesis at the University of Western Australia. Winthrop Professor Yeoh is President of the Cancer Council WA, a board member of Cancer Council Australia, a board member of the Institute of Respiratory Health, and a former President of the Australian Society for Stem Cell Research.
