Experience:

Freelance, 11/2012 – present Web Designer & Developer

Designed and built several hand-coded and CMS-based (Wordpress) websites. Augmented site designs with emphasis on modern web interface design and interactivity using CSS3, HTML5 (including video and form validation tags), PHP and responsive design techniques. Coding was done in a combination of Sublime, Dreamweaver and simple text editor environments. Wireframes and pixel-accurate mockups were created using Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle and Moqups.

Sunday Afternoons, 3/2011 - 11/2012 Web Designer and Developer

Tasked with rebuilding their e-commerce site from the ground up. Researched and implemented the most optimal platform, strategized with stakeholders across multiple departments and designed a user experience that met Brand, Demographics, and performance expectations. Oversaw usability test program and assisted with email and social media marketing using MainChimp. Developer technologies utilized for site maintenance included HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, PHP, MySQL, on Magento coded using Dreamweaver.

Fire Mountain Gems and Beads, 3/2009 - 3/2011 Web Designer

Responsible for building and maintaining the world’s largest art supply e-commerce website; designed and distributed templates for efficient and consistent site layout. Created a visual design guide to align User Experience and Brand across all company media outlets. Member of Endeca search technology integration team in charge of design integration. Projects were managed through BaseCamp and version control using TortoiseSVN. Mockups were created using Photoshop and Illustrator while coding was done exclusively using Dreamweaver using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Followed strict cross-platform/browser and Accessibility policy.

Responsible for design and maintenance of internally facing website and wiki. Assisted in restructuring workflow to eliminate bottlenecks between departments. Assisted in managing the company’s ever-growing video library including the collection and meta tagging of digital media company-wide. Art directed, designed and built source templates for digital kiosks.

.Sun Web Visual Design Image Director

Responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of visual elements appearing on all Sun's web properties; implemented a formal graphics production and delivery workflow. Created templates, taught workshops and provided support for visual designers company-wide. Designed sun.com media components including gallery, video player, and iconography. Defined a standard shots list for product photography and multimedia. Built official Sun Brand color palettes used company-wide. Held a chair on both the Digital Assets Management and Rebranding review boards; Brand consultant for sun.com and open source sites.

Java.com Art Director

Defined and maintained the look-and-feel for java.com, Java's consumer website. Initially produced all graphics, new page layouts and site revisions. Built templates, guidelines and was Publishing department liaison. As art director, trained and oversaw the production team and held a consultation role after being transferred.

Responsible for architecting pages for sun.com’s customer-facing software site using hand-coded HTML and later using Teamsite CMS. Required to maintain strict Section 508/WCAG Accessibility Standards. Illustrator for feature stories, product pages as well as executive keynote presentations using Photoshop, Illustrator and Powerpoint.

Additional Accomplishments:
