Course:EDUC 224

Brief Description:

In this development plan we were assigned to questions certain answers regarding to our goals and track where we are right now. It helped me understand my learning goals by drawing upon knowledge of content areas and curriculum.I was able to talk and discuss the issues regarding my future career.

Rationale:
To document my understanding of Standard #10;Leadership and Collaboration, I discussed my Professional development plan. It helped me track my courses whether I’m taking the right and how far I am to complete the degree. I discussed my future plans which included my transfer to the four year college, scholarships, and admissions process.

My major is education. There are total 60 credits that are required to complete the degree and my 60 credits will be completed this summer. So my expected graduation year is summer 2015. I met Ms. Barbara Wylie who is also the program chair of Education, she guided me about the courses I have to take and what courses will be transferred to IUPUI where I’m planning to transfer.

I’m currently preparing for my CASA. Ms. Barbara has provided me with a study guide so I’m studying that. However, I’ve never taken CASA before. I’m aware of tutoring resources that are offered for the exam but I’ve never been there before.

I’m actually planning to take some time off after I graduate from Ivy Tech, and then I will apply for my admissions at IUPUI. However, I have information about scholarships offered at IUPUI and I also have met IUPUI Education department program chair and she guided me a lot about courses curriculum of the program and materials required in order to get myself enrolled. Though, I haven’t applied for any scholarship at Ivy Tech or outside yet.

I’m planning to start at IUPUI in fall 2016. Till then I will be done with my CASA and all admission process. I met Ms. Ann who is a program Chair at IUPUI for education department and she guided me about the scholarships offered there, how can I apply, and what are the deadlines. I have visited the campus on my own. IUPUI is a huge university, whereas, I prefer small places, small classes with less students and I’m very used to of Ivy Tech however I’ll get used to of the building and the university environment.
