Professional Advisor - Recertification Plan Auditor- Independent Contractor

The Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (the Board) is seeking expressions of interest from experienced psychotherapists to assist the Board in theanonymous audit of psychotherapist Recertification Plans against Board checklists and policy. Please see the Position Description and Terms of Reference for more detailed information regarding this role.

The Board will provide training and on-going support for all Professional Advisors in this role.

Professional Advisor Role

To contribute to the Board’s principal purpose of protecting the health and safety of members ofthe public by ensuring that psychotherapists are engaged in professional development and maintaining their competence to practise.

The time commitment will vary depending on the number and complexity of audits received. It is expected that audits will take place between February and May each year. Overall there will be approx. 100 audits to complete each year; the number received by each Professional Advisor will vary depending on the number of Professional Advisors.

Note: Work flow cannot be predicted. As much notice as possible will be given by the Registrar or Registration Officer, and communication will be ongoing.

Ideal Person Specification

Essential:

  • a psychotherapist in the Psychotherapist Scope of Practice or Psychotherapist Scope of Practice with Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist Specialism;
  • current APC with no conditions;
  • personal organisation and self-management; self-directed, self-motivated; ability to meet deadlines;
  • teamwork and cooperation skills;
  • commitment to quality service and improvement of Board policy;
  • excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • proficient with Microsoft Office;
  • analytical thinking and ability to systematically use information to reach decisions;
  • ability to generate and implement innovative improvement; and
  • personal computer, access to the internet and the required tools to undertake the role.

Desirable:

  • knowledge of the HPCAA;
  • experience in assessing and evaluating diverse information.
