Resists up to 230 °Celsius: Schreiner ProTech Presents((rfid))-DistaFerr HighTemp 2

Product Premiere at IZB: Reliable In-Process Data Reading even at High Temperatures

Oberschleissheim, October 12,2016 – In the automotive industry, metallic objects frequently pass through high-temperature cycles—for instance in painting, drying or testing. At the international Suppliers Fair (IZB) in Wolfsburg(Hall 3, Stand 3217) from October 18 to 20, 2016, Schreiner ProTech will be presenting a newly developed, extremely robust RFID label: ((rfid))-DistaFerr HighTemp 2. Directly applied to metal, it guarantees reliable in-process data reading of up to 2.5 m even at high temperatures up to 230 °C.

Equipping metal components with self-adhesive RFID solutions for automatic identification at high temperatures poses a challenge for two reasons: for one, metal influences the performance capabilities of RFID labels and for the other, they are prone to failure in extreme heat. Due to its special high-tech material composition, the newly developed label does not shrink in the high-temperature process and, as a result, will not expose any paint-free areas on the substrate. At the same time, it enables high read range. “Up to now, only RFID hardtags could be used for heat processes on metallic substrates. However, the tags are not suitable for processing from rolls in TTR printers, which prevents optimal fully automated programming with system data. But highly-automated production or assembly requires automated programming, printing and dispensing in the respective frequency.Consequently, they are not suitable for production processes,” explains Business Development Manager Frank Linti from the Competence Center Schreiner LogiData.

In addition, Schreiner ProTechwill be showcasing its entire portfolio of RFID labels for marking metal products at IZB. All of these RFID solutions enable large read range evenon metallic substrates and conductive materials. As a result, they ensure end-to-end data acquisition and consistent quality management across the entire value chain.
