Financial Analyst – This position is responsible for analysis and reporting about a variety of financial requirements applicable to NARBHA and its provider healthcare agencies, and for assistance in budget preparation, accounting and auditing functions, review and reporting on claims/encounter data, and implementing financial policies and procedures. Duties may include providing technical assistance to subcontracted provider agencies, conducting special financial analyses and projects, monitoring to determine adherence to policies and requirements, development of financial presentations and reports for management and leadership, and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

·  Analyzes contracted healthcare provider financial, claiming and encounter data. Determines areas of concern regarding reporting practices of providers and financial viability. Determines accuracy and appropriateness of data received.

·  Conducts research, inputs and compiles provider financial data using spreadsheets and various databases, reports findings and makes recommendations.

·  Produces financial analysis reports for distribution to various end users.

·  Tests and verifies data validity and resolves system issues through coordination with MIS (Management Information Systems Department), to ensure accuracy for financial analysis.

·  Plans and conducts audits of third party liability/co-pay processes, coordinates research into denied claims (TPL/CoPay) and other matters as assigned

·  Monitors compliance with DBHS requirement and assigned policies. Reports findings and makes recommendations on adherence to policies and appropriate actions to be taken.

·  Conducts research, analytical studies and reports on emergent topics.

·  Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance related field, and four years related financial experience; or, and equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

·  Nonprofit or healthcare financial experience desired.

·  Advanced math skills and the ability to make analytical decisions and assumptions about the relevance and reliability of data.

·  Demonstrated knowledge of accounting and financial auditing policies and procedures

·  Strong customer service

·  Excellent verbal and telephone (communication) skills

·  Computer proficiency is required, to include accounting related software, databases and applications, advanced skills in Excel related to links, conditional formatting, look up features, complex find and replace and print tables.

·  Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast paced environment and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
