PROCEDURES FOR NON-ACADEMIC HOURLY SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYEE

·  Substitutes may not begin working prior to HR approval.

·  Employee must sign form and provide appropriate employee hire packet, which may be obtained from Human Resources. Candidate is required to meet the minimum qualifications for the position. Please include a resume or brief statement addressing education and experience as it relates to this position.

·  After form is completed, and all required signatures affixed, forward with completed hire packet materials, to Human Resources.

·  TB assessment results are required (10) ten days after approved hire. Copy of the approved hire form with all required signatures must be presented to Campus Health Services staff for assessment to be administered.

·  Live Scan results are required 10 (ten) days after approved hire. Live Scan forms can be obtained from Human Resources.

·  See Board Policy 7230 and Administrative Procedure 7236

§  Classified Employee Absence

·  Replacing the temporary absence of a permanent classified employee on an HR approved leave of absence

·  Appointment may not exceed 175 days in an academic year. Work for any portion of a day constitutes a day.

·  Must pass a Live Scan background check and TB assessment.

§  Vacancy Replacement

·  Filling a vacancy of a permanent classified position

·  The district is actively engaged in the recruitment process (approved for recruitment and on the critical hire list)

·  Appointment period may not exceed 60 calendar days, subject to extension by mutual agreement between CSEA and the District per the CSEA collective bargaining agreement.

·  Must pass a Live Scan background check and TB assessment.
