B.50% of grade will be determined by attitude. (Attitude is demonstrated by participation in class and attendance.)

C.There may be a mid-term exam and will be a final exam.

D.There may be daily quizzes.

E.Assignments due will be turned in to the instructor at or before the end of the final period of class each week. This is to avoid all assignments being turned in the last day of class.

F.Students will only receive points for assignments turned in completed.

G.Late work will not accepted unless a prior arrangement has been made with the instructor.

H.Instructor may alter portions of weekly assignments based on how well the class material is being understood.

The following items must appear on each homework assignment turned in or a reduction of credit will be given for that assignment.

Your name, name of chapter, questions due (Example: 1-29) and the week number of the assignment.

Homework CANNOT be turned in using spiral wound paper...plain paper only.

  1. Clean-Up

The instructor will announce clean-up time at the end of each class session, and then this procedure should be followed:

➢Shut down welding equipment you are using.

➢Return any tools used to the proper area.

➢Return unused steel to the proper storage area.

➢Place welding pieces in the scrap container (cool if necessary).

➢Return welding rods over 2” in length to the proper box or tray in storage rack.

➢Sweep off table top in welding booth, and place welding stool on table.

➢Sweep floor of welding booth and put stubs and slag in metal garbage can

The student is free to go after completing these procedures.

  1. Safety

The student is responsible to follow all safety rules and shop procedures and to perform all tasks in a safe and conscientious manner. This includes wearing the required safety items (safety glasses, high top boots or shoes, etc.) during the lab time.

NOTE: The instructor will verbally warn the student when required safety items are not being worn in the shop, or when safety procedures are not being followed. Repeated safety violations may require the student to be withdrawn from the course by the instructor. Three strikes and you're out. Third warning could result in dismissal from the class.

NOTE: Instructor has the right to change areas that will better enhance the learning of the student. This will only happen with proper notification to the student.
