First Team Meeting: 7-8.30pm Thursday 23 July, Hillview Christian School staffroom, 150 Wilsons Road (Junior Campus), St. Martins, Christchurch. This meeting willmainly be a chance to meet team members and managers. You will also get your PSC singlet (this will need to be handed back after the event) and hopefully other uniform piecesthat you have ordered. We will also take your photo for the team profile booklet and a video of the course will be shown.

Training schedule:A suggested training schedule to follow for ten weeks before the event can be downloaded from our team blog and a hard copy will be handed out at our first team meeting on 23 July.

Supporters/Managers/Captains:

Supporters: Only team members and managers will travel and stay with the team. We certainly do encourage and want families to come and support our team though. Please make your own travel and accommodation bookings.

Managers: Each team of 10 children will require two or three managers to look after their needs. They will be part of the team and will have lots of jobs to do from cooking and cleaning to taking times, organising uniforms, making sure children are in bed and being the first contact for the children.Ideally, this will suit parents of children. Please indicate on the online application form if you can help out in this respect. Year 5/6 managers will be notified by email on 21 June.

Please note:

1. Managers will pay the same costs as the children less race entry and photo- total of $170 or $190 with a Polo shirt.

2. They will be required to be with children at all times.

3. They cannot have other siblings to look after.

Captains: Each team of 10 children also requires a team captain. In the past we have given this to the fastest runner in the team but we now realise that they are not necessarily the best captains or don’t always even want to be captains. If you would like to be a captain, please complete the section on the online application form. It is an honour and privilege to captain your province! Captains need to be able to assist their team managers, turn up to all training sessions and meetings (or make arrangements) andtake the team attendance roll. They need to be responsible and mature and very supportive of all your team members. You may also be asked to give a speech of thanks and a victory speech (we hope!). The Year 8 captains will be the overall team captains as well.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU FILL OUT THE TEAM APPLICATION FORMBY FRIDAY 19 JUNE TO LET US KNOW OF YOURAVAILABILITY.Head to our blog to find the form- pscccteam.wordpress.com
