[1]1Algoma has an “adjustment clause” in the agreement which provides that in February of each year, if the wage rate for Algoma is less than the average rate for Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie, City of Greater Sudbury, the District of Cochrane and Manitoulin-Sudbury DSSAB there will be a wage adjustment.

The rates for 2009-2011 were awarded through the Participating Hospitals and SEIU Interest Arbitration (Burkett).

The tuition cost was established as $13,500. If the employee only receives the preceptor component of the cost of the training was established as $4,250. A subsequent market adjustment of an additional 1% was also made on May 1, 2006. For 2007-2010, the annual increases were 3% with a 5% market adjustment in 2007 before the annual increase was applied.

The new rate includes the $900.00 previously included for defib. The rate is effective Dec 31/04 (the end of the previous contract).
