I wonder what this year will bring. Of course I’m not going to try to predict the future, but rather focus on plans for the Severn Loop.
Your clergy and churchwardens have been working on the Bishop of Lichfield’s theme - “Come follow Christ in the footsteps of St Chad.”
On 26th and 27th January we have another 24 hours of prayer, with a focus on unity - it comes at the end of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.
On 20th March there is a Loop Quiet Day, one element in our keeping Lent.
On 29th April The Revd George Fisher is the preacher at our Loop united service, and this is to be followed by lunch and an afternoon thinking about the gifts God gives us and our use of them.
From 10th to 20th May we respond to the call by the archbishops to pray “Thy Kingdom come”.
From 11th to 15th July the whole diocese welcomes a team from our companion diocese in Malaysia - the theme, “Intentional Discipleship”.
What an enormous privilege it is to be a group of churches wanting to follow where Jesus leads.

That was the heading of an email received by Mary-Lou and Robert from Malcolm Dawson a week before Christmas. The message said:
I just wanted to share some great news with you both, Sue and I have recently got engaged. We are hoping to get married late summer next year.

Coffee Mornings
Margaret Thrower is hosting a coffee morning at her home, The Old Vicarage, Albrighton, on Friday 5th January, 11.00 am to 12.30 pm. It is £2.50 and money raised goes to fund the new needlework at Albrighton Church.
The monthly coffee morning at Bicton Church is on Thursday 11th January. Come from 10.30 am.
Prayer Meeting
Tuesday 9th January at 7.30 pm at “Mamre”, Bicton Lane, home of Robin and Chris Oake.
The Filling Station
Tuesday 16th January at 7.30 pm at Knockin Assembly Rooms. The speaker is The Revd Phil Cansdale, Vicar of Holy Trinity Meole Brace.

Twenty-four hours of prayer
The Mission Church is the location for our third period of continous prayer. You are invited to sign up to spend an hour or more in prayer for Unity. There will be various materials to help you to focus.

Lent
Ash Wednesday will soon be here! - 14th February. Why not begin Lent by coming to Bicton Church for the Communion Service at 11.30 am on that day, and stay for lunch - soup and cake. Look out for details of other Lenten events.
