In the Name of God Amen I Joseph

Preston of Winskill in the parish of Giggleswick and County

of York Yeoman being aged and infirm in Body but of sound and

disposing Mind Memory and Understanding praised be God for

the same do for the settling of my temporal Concerns make and

ordain this my last Will and Testament as follows and First I

will that all my Just Debts Funeral Expences and the Charge

of the Probate of this my Will be paid out and discharged forth

and out of my Personal Estate I also give and bequeath unto

Elizabeth Peacock Eldest Daughter of Richard Peacock my Kins

-man the Sum of thirty Pounds I also give and bequeath unto

James Peacock Brother of the said Elizabeth the like Sum of thirty

Pounds I also give and bequeath unto the said Richard Pea-

cock the Sum of five Pounds I also give and bequeath unto Anne

Peacock Wife of the said Richard Peacock the Sum of ten Pounds

I also give and bequeath unto Johanna Bradley my Kinswoman

the Sum of Five Pounds I also give and bequeath unto Thomas

Walker my Kinsman the Sum of twenty shillings I also give and

bequeath unto Elizabeth Stackhouse Wife of Christopher Stack=

house of Winskill aforesaid the Sum of one hundred Pounds I

also give and bequeath unto William Lawson of Settle my Brothers

Son the Sum of ten Shillings I also give and bequeath unto Margret

Lawson Sister of the said William Lawson the Sum of ten shillings

all which said several Legacies it is my Will and Mind shall be

severally paid as above by my Executrix hereafter named at the

End of twelve Months next after my Decease I likewise give and

bequeath unto Joseph Peacock Son of the said Richard Peacock

thirty Pounds I also give and bequeath unto Thomas Peacock

another of the Sons of the said Richard Peacock the like Sum of thirty

Pounds I also give unto Anne Peacock another of the Daughters of

the said Richard Peacock the like Sum of thirty Pounds I also give

and bequeath unto Frances Peacock another of the Daughters

of the said Richard Peacock the like Sum of thirty Pounds I also

give and bequeath unto Frances Peacock another of the Daughters of

the said Richard Peacock the like Sum of thirty Pounds (sic) I also give

and bequeath unto Alice Stackhouse Daughter of the said Christopher

and Elizabeth Stackhouse the Sum of ten Pounds I also give and be

-queath unto Christopher Lawson the Sum of twenty Shillings all

which said six last mentioned Legacies it is my will and mind shall

be paid to the said several Legatees when and as they shall sever

-ally attain their respective Ages of twenty one years whereas Joseph

Walker my Godson is indebted to me in the Sum of five Pounds now

I do hereby give and release to the said Joseph Walker the said

Sum of Money and the Security I have for the Same all the Rest

Residue and Remainder of my Personal Estate Credits and

Effects whatsoever not disposed of I do hereby give devise and

bequeath unto the said Elizabeth Stackhouse and revoke all for

-mer Wills by Me at any time heretofore made Provided always

and it is my Will and Mind that if any Debts owing to me at

the time of my Decease be lost or cannot be recovered by Reason

of the Insolvency of any of my Creditors all due Means having

been used for the Recovery thereof then and in such Case all and

every Person and Persons to whom I have given anything by

this my Will shall abate so much of his her or their Legacy or

Legacies in equall Proportion thereto as shall supply Such Loss

and lastly I make constitute and appoint the said Elizabeth

Stackhouse sole Executrix of this my Will In witness whereof I

have hereunto set my hand and Seal the fourth Day of August

in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty
