PT-KeramikÒ

PT-Ceramic® is a technical ceramic created using paper technology. This production method provides large production output with excellent reproducibility. The green (pre-ceramic) allows for many methods of forming, shaping and construction such as die cutting, corrugating, rolling and folding. Using our patented interlocking system a wide range of three-dimensional structures can be created.

PT-Ceramic® has numerous possible applications. After firing the material is primarily high chemical purity >99,6 % Al2O3 with a working temperature of 1700 °C featuring long cylindrical pores. It has exceptional thermal shock resistance. Because of these characteristics, PT-Ceramic® is mainly used as kiln furniture for technical ceramics and setter plates in the powdered metal industry. The three dimensional structure produced with the interlocking system drastically reduces weight as compared to the same structure produced from standard ceramic materials.

We have developed kiln furniture with up to 75 % weight reduction. The reduction allows for reduced firing costs saving energy and the environment.

PT-Ceramic® adds to Rath's long exceptional record and experience producing lightweight refractories including insulating fire brick, high temperature wool and vacuum formed shapes. The full potential of PT-Ceramic® hasn't been determined, but many new technical and economical applications are arising. Rath welcomes partnerships to develop new solutions and applications for PT-Ceramic®.

The Rath Group with its comprehensive range of refractory products is an internationally active company that belongs to the most recognized specialists in the field of refractory technology.

Everything started in 1891 with the takeover of a porcelain manufacturer in Krummnußbaum. This was the first step for the formal family enterprise into an international company. Today the company is active world-wide and quoted at the Vienna Stock Exchange.
