Health & Fitness Suite

New Lanark World Heritage Site

New Lanark World Heritage Site, South Lanarkshire, has recently expanded (May 2007) into the world of Health and Fitness with the opening of a new state-of-the-art Leisure Suite. This addition compliments the excellent conference and accommodation facilities available in the New Lanark Mill Hotel and self-catering Waterhouses, close to the Falls of Clyde.

Costing nearly £2 million, the new 900sq m (9,867sq ft) leisure suite is located completely inside the historic New Lanark’s Mill Number Two, and is open to hotel guests and club members. The facilities include; gym with sophisticated cardio vascular equipment each with its own plasma screen, 16m Ozone-filtered swimming pool, bubble pool, sauna, steam room, and 2 fitness studios. Qualified trainers conduct a variety of fitness classes and training sessions, as well as offering one-to-one personal training.

The brand new (June 2007) beauty treatment room is open to all and offers a wide range of treatments, including; massage, exfoliating scrub, facial, waxing, and luxury manicure/pedicure. A variety of tailored Spa Packages are available, combining use of the pool and gym facilities with beauty treatments. Gift Vouchers can be purchased and are an excellent gift idea for birthdays, anniversaries, or just as a special treat for a family member or a friend.

Relax in the Leisure Suite’s lounge area over-looking the pool with a cappuccino or a refreshing smoothie. Alternatively, enjoy a drink and lunch in the Hotel’s Falls Bar, or an evening meal in the charming and intimate restaurant with river views.

Hayley Duncan, Leisure Club Development Manager, commented,

“Relaxing, eating, drinking and socialising are important to good health. That's why our fantastic facilities reflect our belief that an active lifestyle extends beyond the realm of fitness and into the social arena.”

Whether you want to shape up, or slow down, relax, and restore your inner equilibrium, this unique rural health, fitness and beauty facility has something to offer.

Located less than an hour from Glasgow and Edinburgh, the addition of the Leisure Suite to New Lanark Mill Hotel, make it an ideal location for a short break. Adjacent to the Hotel is New Lanark’s award-winning Visitor Centre, which provides great family entertainment.
