Proclaimed Offender arrested :- Chandni Chowk police arrested one Hafeez, 24 year, a vagabond of Lajpat Rai market area from Lahori Gate Chowk yesterday. According to DCP/North office, a local Court had declared him P.O. in a case of Arms Act of P.S. Kotwali.

Public help is sought in identifying the body :- Old Delhi Railway police have sought public help in identifying the following bodies :-

  1. A male, aged around 54/55 year, Ht. 5’4”, sallow complexion, oval face, thin built, wearing yellow baniyan, found on 30.4.08.
  2. A male, aged around 35/40 year, Ht. 5’2”, wheatish complexion, long face, thin built, wearing grey T-shirt, found on 30.4.08.
  3. A male, aged around 40/45 year, Ht. 5’5”, sallow complexion, medium built, wearing white shirt & black pants, found on 29.4.08.

Railway Main Delhi police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 40 year, Ht. 5’6”, wheatish complexion, oval face, wearing white kurta & Payjama, found on 1.5.08.

Subzi Mandi Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 30/35 year, Ht. 5’6”, wheatish complexion, long face, thin built, wearing pink shirt and Badami colour pants, found on 3.5.08.

DOUBLE MURDER OF MOTHER AND DAUGHTER AT KALKA JI SOLVED: SON-IN-LAW ARRESTED - ROBBED CASH Rs.5.70 LACS RECOVERED

Delhi Police South District has arrested Arun Lal s/o sh. Basant Lal r/o 45/1116, DDA Flats, Kalkaji, New Delhi, son-in-law who killed his mother-in-law; Smt. Asha, age-58 years and sister-in-law Ms. Alka, age-28 years in the sensational double murder case reported on 02.05.2008 vide FIR No. 201, u/s 302 IPC, P.S. Kalkaji, Delhi. Rs. 5.70 Lacs out of the robbed money has also been recovered at the instance of the accused from his house.

On 02.05.2008, a PCR Call vide D.O. No. 29-A was received at about 8.25 PM wherein the caller had reported that his sister-in-law and niece have been murdered at J-1/180, 1st Floor, D.O. Flats, Kalkaji, New Delhi. The call was marked to SI Santokh Singh who alongwith staff reached at the spot. From the PCR Call, the incident and from the inspection of the scene of crime a case vide FIR No. 201/08 u/s 302 IPC, PS Kalkaji was registered and investigation taken up.

Keeping in view of the sensitivity of the incident, a team under the supervision of Sh. Rakesh Pawariya/ACP Kalkaji and Sh.K.S.Bhatnagar, ACP/Operations a team comprising of Inspr. Joginder Kumar-SHO/PS Kalkaji, Inspr. Vijay Singh-Special Staff/South District, Sis - Upender Singh-I/C PP Govind Puri, Ashish Dalal, Gajender Singh and Aishbir Singh, ASls - Ashok and Ram Bhool, HCs - Bir Singh, Mangal Ram, Harish Kumar, Shyambir and Ram Kishan, was constituted and specific tasks were assigned to different teams constituted to solve the case. Sh.N.S.Bundela, Add!. DCP/South District closely supervised the special team involved in the task.

From inspection of the scene of crime, it was apparent that the entry of the accused was friendly and the assailant was also aware of the money lying in the house. The assailant had knowledge about the exact location of the cash as no other articles/valuables kept in the house were disturbed or ransacked. The street was crowded and any stranger entering the house could not have gone unnoticed.

Based on the observations, sources were deployed to find out the persons knowing about the recent sale of property and the cash lying at the house. Various relatives, friends and associates were put under scanner and role of Arun Lal emerged to be most suspicious. Arun Lal was thoroughly interrogated and he finally broke down and disclosed his involvement in commission of the crime. He further disclosed that he was unemployed and was hard pressed for money. He was closely associated with the deal that had taken place for selling of a plot by the deceased at Uttam Nagar.

On 02.05.2008, Arun received a call from his sister-in-law Alka that Mrs. Asha, who had a previous history of epilepsy, has left the house without her knowledge. She further wanted his assistance to search Mrs. Asha. Arun reached on the call of Alka and both of them set out to search Mrs. Asha. They found Mrs. Asha at SaiBabaTemple, 0 Block, Sang am Vihar and all of them came back to the house of Mrs. Asha. In the evening, when Ms. Alka set out of the house for bringing milk, Arun hit his mother-in-law with 'SILBATTA' and took out the cash from the double bed. As soon as Arun left the house, he was encountered by Alka on the stairs, who just returned after taking milk. Arun told Alka that mother has fallen due to epilepsy attack and had got her head injured and is lying in the bedroom. When Alka insisted to see her mother, Arun rnade her to sit in the drawing room and when she bent down to look at her mother, he hit her with the same 'SILBATTA" in the same fashion. After committing the crime, Arun hid the 'Silbatta' and left out with the robbed cash, leaving the door ajar. He went back to his house and kept the money inside the locker of his almirah and then left for his sister's house at Sangam Vihar. In the late evening, one Neha, first neighbour of deceased Alka, went to her house for inviting her to play badminton, but found her lying in pool of blood. She came out and informed Arun and Gopal (brother of the deceased). After getting information from other people, Arun reached on the spot and enacted a drama as if he was not aware of the incident earlier and was most aggrieved with it. He also tried to mislead the police and put role of Gopal under scanner.

Cash amounting to RS.5.70 lacs has been recovered after the disclosure and at the instance of the accused from his house. The blood stained SILBATIA has also been recovered at the instance of the accused.

INTERSTATE GANG OF AUTO LIFTERS BUSTED : 2 PERSONS ARRESTED : 10 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of two persons namely i) Deepak Kumar @ Deepu, aged 26 years, s/o Ramphal Singh, r/o PS Sadar Bahadurgarh, Haryana and ii) Jagdish @ Jaggi s/o Ghanshyam, aged 33 years, r/o Dayanand Nagar Bahadurgarh, Haryana, the Crime Branch, Delhi Police has busted a gang of interstate autolitfers and have recovered 10 motorcycles stolen by them. Both persons were operating in South West and West District of Delhi and Bahadurgarh Haryana. Total 10 motorcycles and one Nokia N-70 Mobile phone have been recovered on their instance.

INCIDENT & TEAM

The alto lifting had adversely affected Delhi. Large numbers of vehicles are reportedly stolen every year. Special Operation Squad of Crime Branch was asked to work on this to stop the increasing incidents of auto lifting. On this a Police team of Special Operation Squad consisting SIs Surender Singh, PC Yadav and Sukhbir Malik, HC Sukhbir , HC Hanuman, Cts. Kartar and Suresh led by Inspr Arvind Kumar under the overall supervision of Sh. Udaiveer Singh Rathee, ACP/SOS was constituted. The team developed information and deployed sources. It was revealed that one such gang who hails from Bahadurgarh, Haryana is active in mostly South West and West Distt.

On 2/5/08, a specific information was received that the two members of this gang would be coming in the area of MillenniumPark , Hazrat Nizamuddin, on which a trap was laid and both were apprehended while they were riding on a m/cycle. On cross checking, the m/cycle was found to be stolen from the area of PS Naraina. Both were arrested in the case pertaining to PS Naraina and were subjected to intensive interrogation.

INTERROGATION:

During the course of sustained interrogation it was revealed that father of accused Deepak is working as Asstt. Sub Inspector in Bahadurgarh in Haryana Police and he has already been arrested in 3 cases by PS Bahadurgarh. He does not have a good reputation within the Police colony where he resides. Father of other accused Jagdish @ Jaggi is also working as Head Constable in Delhi Police. He was also found to be previously involved in 3 cases in Delhi and Haryana. Both of them confessed to have committed theft of m/cycles in area of West Distt and South West Distt.

On their instance Police team recovered 9 motor cycles including 6 Bajaj Pulsar, one Hero Honda Passion, one Hero Honda Splendor and one Hero Honda Glamour apart from one Nokia N 70 Mobile phone. The recovered motor cycles have been found to be stolen one each from the area of PS Nangloi, Paschim Vihar, Rohini, Subzi Mandi, Hari Nagar, RK Puram and Naraina. Three of the recovered m/cycles and the recovered mobile phone are yet to be connected with their respective cases. Respective police stations have been informed. Further investigation is underway.

NIGHT BURLGLAR ARRESTED :THREE COMPUTERS AND ONE PRINTER STOLEN FROM CYBER CAFÉ RECOVERED

With the arrest of Rahul Yadav, aged 26 @ Happy s/o Lt. Dhram Pal Yadav r/o A-14, Yadav Nagar Samai Pur Badli, Delhi. North District police has solved a case of night burglary committed in the area of PS Mukerjee Nagar, North West District and recovered three Monitors, three CPUs and one Printer.

TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

A team consisting of Inspector Amardeep Sehgal, I/C Special Staff, North District, SI Joginder Singh, HC Sanjay Kumar, HC Braham Dev, Ct. Ravi Khari and Ct. Manoj was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. S. S. Malik, ACP/Operations, North District.

In order to prevent and contain the increasing incidents of burglaries in the area of North District, the special staff was directed to develop information about gang of burglars operating in the area. A large number of sources were deployed.

On 04.05.08, information was received that one person who is in possession of stolen Computers / peripherals would come from Patel Chest Chowk. A trap was laid at about 4.15 PM and on the pointing out of the informer, the police party apprehended one person namely Rahul Yadav @ Happy. On cursory search, one Central Processing Unit was recovered from a gunny bag, which was in his possession. On verification, it was found that the same was stolen from the area of P.S. Mukerjee Nagar, North West District. A case vide FIR No. 57/08 u/s 411 IPC PS Maurice Nagar was registered in this regard.

INVESTIGATION

Accused person Rahul Yadav @ Happy was interrogated at length and he disclosed that he is a graduate. He further disclosed that after leaving his studies he started working with one property dealer of Sarup Nagar but was not able to earn enough money to meet his daily expenses. He wanted to open his cyber cafe along with his accomplice Sunil Yadav. On the night of 1-2/5/08 he along with his accomplice Sunil Yadav hatched a plan to steal some computers from cyber cafe near Batra Cinema.

During investigation three monitors, two CPUs and one Printer were recovered from his house. Total value of the recovered property is worth Rs 1.5 Lakhs.

Rahul Yadav @ Happy s/o Lt. Dhram Pal Yadav is aged 26 years r/o A-14, Yadav Nagar Samai Pur Badli, Delhi. He is unmarried. He fell in the bad company of his associate namely Sunil Yadava and in order to earn quick and easy money he started committing crime.

  1. HUGE HAUL OF ILLICIT LIQUOR RECOVERED : TWENTY EIGHT CARTONS OF LIQUOR SEIZED : ONE ARRESTED

The police of PS Sarai Rohilla arrested one Dev Kumar Chaudhary s/o Jogi Chaudhary r/o 1774, Chimni Wala Katra, Roshanara Road, Delhi while he was in possession of 28 cartons of Evergreen Whiskey at 5:00 a.m. on 04-05-08. Ct. Girish and Ct. Farooq of P.S. Sarai Rohilla were at picket duty at Shastri Nagar, Delhi in the area of P.S. Sarai Rohilla. One person in a Maruti car came from Bharat Nagar side. He was signaled to stop but he tried to flee away. He was chased and overpowered by the police. On the search of his car, twenty eight cartons of Evergreen Whiskey were recovered. A case of Excise Act has been registered at PS Sarai Rohilla in this regard.

On sustained interrogation, accused person disclosed that he used to supply this illicit liquor among the slum areas of North, North West and West District, Delhi.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress.

3. TWO AUTO LIFTERS ARRESTED : THREE MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of Sonu @ Kalwa, aged 23 years s/o Mangal r/o A-146, Lal Quarter, JJ Colony, Madipur, Delhi and (2) Ram, aged 18 years s/o Phool Singh r/o A-556, JJ Colony, Madipur, Delhi, North District police has solved three cases of M.V. thefts of P.S. Moti Nagar and P.S. Punjabi Bagh, Delhi.

To prevent and contain the incidence of M.V. theft in the area of North District, a special team was constituted to develop information about auto lifters. On 01-05-2008, at about 7:30 p.m., when police party was conducting vehicle checking near Metro Station Inderlok, Delhi, two suspicious persons, riding Pulsar Motorcycle, came from Keshavpuram, Delhi and tried to go back after seeing the police party, which created suspicion about them. The police party chased and overpowered them. They were asked to show the documents of the motorcycle. But they could not give any satisfactory reply. On verification, it was found that this motorcycle was stolen from the area of P.S. Moti Nagar, Delhi. A case was registered against them at P.S. Sarai Rohilla in this regard.

On sustained interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they had stolen two more motorcycles from the area of P.S. Punjabi Bagh, Delhi. On their instance, one Pulsar and one CBZ motorcycle were recovered.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress.
