Snatchers arrested :- Special Staff North-East Distt. arrested two snatchers namely Om Prakash, 22 year R/o Jahangir Puri and Mohd. Mahroof, 22 year, R/o Meerut (UP) from near Bhagat Singh Park, Yamuna Vihar, yesterday. According to DCP/North-East, with the arrest of both the accused, four cases of snatching and one case of auto theft have been worked out. Four snatched gold chains and one motor-cycle stolen from Bhajan Pura area have been recovered from their possession.

Proclaimed Offenders arrested :- Lahori Gate police arrested one Vijay Kumar, 24 year R/o Sangam Vihar, yesterday. According to DCP/North office, a local Court had declared him P.O. in a case of Excise Act in the year of 2003 of P.S. Sangam Vihar.

Chandni Chowk police arrested one Karan Gupta R/o Gautam Puri, Usmanpur yesterday. He was declared P.O. in a case of NDPS Act in the year of 2003 of P.S. Usmanpur.

Public help is sought in identifying the body :- New Delhi Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a female, aged around 55/60 year, Ht. 5’, long face, sallow complexion, thin built, wearing white suit/salwar and green sweater, found on 12.4.08.

SENSATIONAL DAY LIGHT CASH ROBBERY IN DELHI CANTT. AREA SOLVED. 3 PERSONS ARRESTED INCLUDING BANK GUARD: CASH RS. 2.50 LACS RECOVERED WITH WEAPON OF OFFENCE.

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of three accused persons namely (1) Ratti Pal, aged 42 years, s/o Gevar Singh, ii) Ashok Malik, aged 30 years, s/o Chand Ram Malik, and iii) Wazir @ Rajbir, aged 31 years, s/o Budh Ram all are resident of Sultanpuri, Delhi, the Crime Branch has successfully solved the day light robbery case of Delhi Cantt. committed on a little more than a week ago. The Police team has also recovered robbed cash Rs. 2.50 lacs, one sophisticated 7.65 pistol alongwith 3 live cartridges and the Santro car used in the commission of crime and a brand new motorcycle (Bajaj Platina) bought with the looted money, has also been recovered from their possession.

INCIDENT & TEAM

On 16.4.2008 at about 4.00 p.m. some armed robbers intercepted a cash van (Maruti-800 car) of Mahamedha Urban Co-operative Bank near Kirby Place, Delhi Cantt. and robbed Rs. 34 lacs after shooting the cash van guard. This day light robbery and shooting had created a lot of sensation in general public. A case vide FIR No. 137/08 u/s. 394/397/34-IPC was registered at PS Delhi Cantt.

Keeping in view the gravity of the incident a Police team of Crime Branch, SIT and Anti Homicide Cell, consisting of, SIs Rajesh, Balihaar, Surender Dalal, Anil Malik, Sunil, Ramavtar, ASI Rishi, HCs Dilawar, Sanjay, Virpal, Vijender, Rajender, Cts. Atul, Amit, Ved led by Inspr. Jitender was constituted. The Police team developed sources and gathered information about the incident and the probable assailants responsible for the incident.

INVESTIGATION :

The victims in the cash van had noted down the registration number of the assailant’s car as DL-4C-AG-3008, the police team identified one Sudhir @ Kala resident of Shakoorpur, Saraswati Vihar, Delhi as the person using the above said vehicle. It was found that Sudhir was a criminal and was involved in several criminal cases in Delhi. Further, investigation revealed that Sudhir @ Kala and his gang were behind the above mentioned day light robbery. One of his gang members was identified as Wazir @ Rajbir who also was a desperate criminal with more than a dozen heinous cases registered against him.

On a specific tip-off on 24.4.08 the Police team found out that Wazir @ Rajbir would be coming to the area of Vijay Vihar, Delhi some time in the evening. Accordingly a trap was laid near cemetery, Vijay Vihar, Rohini. At about 9.15 p.m. the team spotted Wazir @ Rajbir coming towards them. The team swooped down and apprehended Wazir @ Rahbir after a brief struggle. A sophisticated 7.65 mm pistol with 3 live cartridges and a spare magazine was recovered from his possession.

INTERROGATION ;

On sustained interrogation accused Wazir @ Rajbir confessed his involvement in the above mentioned day light robbery. He further disclosed that the pistol recovered from him had been used by him to shoot the bank guard thrice. At his instance the Police team also arrested two other associates namely Ratti Pal and Ashok Malik and recovered cash Rs. 2.50 lacs (Rs. 1.27 lacs from Wazir, Rs. 50 thousand from Ratti Pal and Rs. 42 thousand from Ashok Malik) and the Santro car used by them in the commission of the crime. The Police team has also recovered on Bajaj Platina motorcycle bought by from the looted cash.

DISCLOSURE :

The accused Wazir @ Rajbir disclosed that he and his gang members led by Sudhir @ Kala had been planning to rob the vehicle carrying cash since the past fortnight. The vital information that the vehicle carried cash was given to him by Ratti. Pal, who works as a security guard in one of the banks. The two of them roped in Ashok Malik and used his premises to hold meetings to finalize the plan with the rest of the gang members. The gang had conducted several dry runs before the actual heist. On the day of the incident the gang members had assembled near a bank in Chawari Bazar where the cash van was supposed to arrive. They were in constant touch with the security guard inside the van. However, when the cash van left Chawari Bazar, there was no cash in the cash van. The gang followed the cash van all the way to a Bank in Punjabi Bagh. The cash van left Punjabi Bagh with a heavy cash bag. The gang followed the cash van and finding a suitable place near Delhi Cantt. intercepted it. When the security guard in the cash van, resisted their attempt, Wazir @ Rajbir shot him multiple times. After looting the cash the gang reassembled at the house of Sudhir @ Kala in Shakurpur and distributed the booty. Accused Ratti Pal has disclosed that he had bought one Bajaj Platina motorcycle from his share of the looted money.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED :

Wazir @ Rajbir is found involved in 16 criminal cases including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity, robbery, possession of illegal fire arms, assault etc. in different police stations of Delhi. He has come out of jail about 8 months ago. His further antecedents are being verified.

Ashok Malik is a businessman and has two factories in Sultanpuri area. He knew Ratti Pal, the security guard in the bank, through some of his workers as they all belongs to Farooqabad, U.P. He provided his premises for their assembly and finalizing the robbery plan. Part of his share from the robbed amount has been recovered from his possession.

Ratti Pal is employed as a security guard in a bank in Chawari Bazar for the past 8 years and he had provided information regarding the cash van. His share of the looted amount has been recovered in the form of Rs. 50,000/- cash and a brand new Bajaj Platina motorcycle.

RECOVERIES

1.  Looted cash Rs. 2.50 lacs.

2.  One 7.65 bore pistol with 3 live cartridges,

3.  One Santro car used in the commission of crime.

4.  One Motorcycle Bajaj Platina bought from the looted cash.

5.  Four mobile phones belonging to accused persons used for operation.

Mohd. Israj @ Rohit, aged 21 years, S/o Nizamuddin r/o Shakurpur, Delhi has already surrendered in the Court due to growing pressure of arrest. He was formally arrested in this case subsequently.

All the accused persons are in the police custody. Efforts are afoot to arrest the remaining gang members who have already been identified and more recoveries are likely to affect in this case. Several police teams have been dispatched outstations to nab the criminals.

SENSATIONAL ROBBERY CUM MURDER CASE WORKED OUT- THREE PERSONS ARRESTED

With the arrest of three accused persons West Distt. Police has solved sensational robbery cum murder case of PS Bindapur. A PCR Call regarding theft and assault on the person of a woman in premises No. A-38, Jeevan Park, Uttam Nagar was received on 16-4-08 at PS Bindapur. On the spot, it was found that dead body of lady aged about 35 years identified as Mrs. Garima was lying on the floor with strangulation mark around her neck. The assailants have also decamped from the premises with cash, ornaments and some other valuable articles. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 102/08 u/s 302/394/34-IPC dt 16.04.08 was registered and entrusted to Inspr. Digvijay Singh, Inspr. Investigation, PS Bindapur for further investigation.

THE TEAM

A joint team under the supervision of Sh. Parmaditya, I.P.S., ACP/Tilak Nagar, Sh. A.K. Lall, ACP/Punjabi Bagh, led by Inspr. Ranjit Kumar, SHO-Bindapur, Inspr. Digvijay Singh, PS Bindapur consisting of SI Srikrishan, SI Satish Kumar along with other personnel was formed to solve this gruesome robbery cum murder case which has spread the panic waves amongst the local residents. The first and foremost goal of the team was to nab Shyam Singh who is native of U.P., the key suspect in the said case, who absconded from his all hideouts and was not found any where. The team continuously worked round the clock and conducted raids at various hideouts of the suspected persons in Delhi as well as in U.P. With the help of electronic surveillance and local intelligence input, the team was able to nab three accused persons namely Shyam @ Shambhu, aged 24yrs S/o Omparkash r/o B-38, Bindapur Extn., Delhi native of Village Sherpur, PS Bakewar, Distt. Etawah (U.P.), Dharamender, aged 20 yrs S/o Late Shivrattan r/o B-38 Bindapur Extn, Delhi native of Village Sherpur, PS Bakewar, Distt. Etawah (U.P.), and Bablu @ Aditya, aged 24 yrs S/o Late Sri Kishan Gupta r/o RZB-59, Bindapur Extn., Delhi and native of Village & PS Migal Ganj, Distt., Lakhimpur Khiri, U.P. from the area of P.S. Bindapur today i.e. on 25-4-08. Efforts are still continuing to arrest the fourth absconding accused.

RECOVERED PROPERTY

From the accused persons police has recovered Rs. 14,500/- Cash, 02 gold ear tops, 02 gold necklace, 01 gold bangle, and silver jewellery.

Apart from above one country made pistol .315 bore along with 5 live cartridges and one empty cartridge of same bore has also been recovered on the instance of Shyam.

THE MOTIVE

The motive behind the murder was robbery and accused made their minds to eliminate the deceased after committing the robbery as she was knowing the accused Shyam Singh.

THE PLAN AND IT’S EXECUTION:-

The accused person Shyam Singh use to frequently visit the house of the deceased in connection with the wooden work and he was hopeful that the financial status of the family of the deceased was very sound and large cash and jewellery will be available at home. The accused persons were in search of opportunity since many days and on 15-4-08, prepared the plan to rob the premises. On 16-4-08 around 12-30 PM all of the four accused managed to enter the premises and decamped with the property after eliminating the deceased Garima and injuring the 4 years old girl Aastha (daughter of the deceased).
