Snatchers arrested : Ashok Vihar police arrested two snatchers namely Vinod, 30 year and Gaurav, 25 year, both R/o J.J. Colony, Wazir Pur yesterday. According to DCP/North office, while the complainant Dinesh, driver of the car of Zee News was waiting outside Gupta Complelx , Neemdi Colony, the accused snatched his mobile and Rs. 150/-. He raised an alarm and nabbed Vinod with the help of passersby. The money was recovered from his possession. Gaurav later was arrested and mobile phone was recovered from his possession.

One held for Picking Pocket :- Kashmere Gate police arrested one Danish, 22 years R/o Seelam Pur for picking pocket, yesterday. According to DCP/ North Office, while the complainant, Ramkishan Huda, ATI in DTC alighted at ISBT Kashmere Gate, the accused picked his purse. The complainant had come from Haridwar. He raised an alarm for help. The accused was arrested with the help of passersby. The purse containing Rs. 760/- was recovered from his possession.

P.O. arrested: - Chandni Chowk police arrested one Daulat Ram, 38 years R/o G.B. Road yesterday. According to DCP/North office, a local Court had declared him a P.O. in a case of Arms Act of P S Sadar Bazar. .

One Thief arrested : Sasbji Mandi police arrested one Satish, 24 years R/o Kabir Basti on wednesday morning. According to DCP/North office, the complainant Chander Prakash who runs STD shop at Punjabi Mohalla found his inverter missing when he open the shop in the morning. He noticed the accused carrying inverter on cycle. He nabbed him with the help of passersby.

1. A male, age around 60/65 year, height 5’6”, long face, shallow complexion, thin built, wearing lungi and T-Shirt, found on 17-6-2008.

2. A female, aged around 50/52 year, height 5’, damaged face, fair complexion, thin built, wearing red blouse,sari & petticoat, found on 18-6-2008.

Sarai Rohilla Railway police have sought public help in identifying the body of a male, aged around 35/40 year, Ht. 5’6”, wheatish complexion, long face, medium built, wearing red shirt & white checkdar and blue pants, found on 18.6.08.

NOTORIOUS ROBBER ARRESTED

On 18.06.08 staff of Police Station Vikas Puri has arrested a notorious robber Harpreet Singh @ Montu @ Dimple S/o Sh. Jasbir Singh R/o RZ 81 Vishnu Garden, Tilak Nagar who was involved in several cases of Theft/Robbery/Car Jacking. One SWIFT DZIRE car, one WAGON-R car and one MOBILE PHONE, robbed by him with his associates have been recovered from him.

BRIEF OF THE CASE

On 4.6.08 a PCR call was received at PS Vikas Puri regarding robbery at Najafgarh road near Uttam Nagar Terminal. One Prikshit Mahendru reported that when he was returning to his residence in his Alto Car from Tilak Nagar, 3 boys in a Swift car stopped him on Najafgarh road and robbed Rs. 10000/- and two mobile phones and a gold chain at gun point and they also injured him with a knife. A case FIR No. 156/08 u/s 392/394/34 IPC PS Vikas Puri was registered on his statement. DCP West Distt. Sh. Sharad Aggarwal visited the spot and directed ACP Punjabi Bagh and SHO Vikas Puri to catch the culprits. Search of the accused persons were made from the old records of the criminals and some suspects were interrogated.

ARREST MADE

On 18.06.08 secret information was received through HC Rishi Yadav that the culprits of the above robbery have also robbed 2 cars from the area of PS Delhi Cantt. They are roaming in the area of Safdarjung Enclave in same Swift Dzire car with a Punjab number plate. On this information, Inspr. L.C. Yadav SHO Vikas Puri immediately deputed Inspr Ghanshyam, ASI Balram, HC Dayanand, Ct. Ved Pal & Ct. Meva Ram to go to Safdarjung Enclave and trace these culprits in that area. This team located the same car with No. PB 02 AZ 8980 at B-6 Block Safdarjing Enclave and tried to stop the car. One window glass of the car was broken in the process. The driver could manage to run away in the car. The number of the car was flashed to PCR and all pickets in Delhi. A trap was also laid at Outer Ring Road by SI Hari Kishan, HC Des Raj, HC Kishor Kumar, Ct. Subhash as the accused was suspected to go to Rohini at his mother’s house. At about 6.15 PM, the SWIFT Dzire car with Punjab number arrived from Janak Puri side and the driver did not stop on signal by HC Desraj rather he tried to run over him. HC Desraj & HC Kishor Kumar chased the car on his motorcycle and SI Hari Kishan With Ct. Subhash followed them on scooter. HC Desraj managed to over take the car and caught the door of the car and asked the accused to stop the car. But the driver tried to hit the car in footpath and opened the door to throw him away and injured him but HC Desraj showing full courage did not loose his grip and pull the driver out of the running car. In this process, the driver also sustained injuries from the tyre of the car. The accused is identified as Harpreet Singh @ Montu s/o Jasbir Singh Pardhan r/o J-591 Sardar Colony, Sector 16 Rohini now residing at WZ 81 Vishnu Garden Tilak Nagar. A case vide FIR No. 168/08 U/s 186/353/307/482/411 IPC PS Vikas Puri has been registered in this regard. Harpreet Singh @ Montu is earlier involved in 3 cases of robbery and theft in the area of Rohini.

MODUS OPERANDI

After sustained interrogation, it was revealed that the accused Harpreet Singh @ Montu is a desperate robber. He has also committed robbery/Car Jacking in Delhi Cantt area alongwith his associates Gurpreet Singh @ Lali and Anil Dsouja @ Mukesh Mark of Tilak Nagar. During night these accused persons while roaming on bikes or car overtake the vehicles of the victim and asked him some address and then rob him on gun point/knife by using toy gun and Kirpan. They also used to threaten the victims not to raise alarm.

RECOVERY MADE

Two robbed cars one Swift Dzire, one Wagon R and one mobile phone have been recovered from the accused Harpreet Singh @ Montu @ Dimple. Three cases of robbery and theft have been worked out. Efforts are being made to arrest the other accused persons involved in the crime with him.

TANTRIK AND HIS LADY RECEPTIONIST APPREHENDED FOR INVOLVEMENT IN DUPING/CHEATING GULLIBLE PUBLIC

With the arrest of Asfaq, aged 44 years s/o Sabbir r/o H.No. 801, Sanjay Colony, Mohalla Maniharan, near Hindon river, Ghaziabad, UP and (2) Vishakha w/o Pawan Kumar r/o H. No. 714, Gali No. 14, Karigar Colony, Village Mukundpur, Delhi, North District police has busted a gang involved in Tantra Mantra and cheating the innocent public.

TEAM AND THE INCIDENT

A team consisting of Inspr. Ashok Tyagi, SHO/Sarai Rohilla, Inspr. Gajender Singh, Inspr. (L & O)/Sarai Rohilla, SI Raj Kumar, W/ASI Anita, HC Rawat Singh, Ct Praveen Ct Sudhir, and Ct Parveen was constituted under the close supervision of Sh. Mohd. Ali, ACP/Subzi Mandi.

On 18.06.08, specific information was received by the team above regarding a gang involved in duping gullible people on the pretext of solving their personal grievances by tying ‘TABEEZ’ and TANTRA-MANTRA. On receipt of the information, it was further developed to know that the gang (consisting of a TANTRIK and a lady) was operating from the first floor of H. No. E-181, Shastri Nagar, Delhi. A decoy customer was sent and it was learnt that Rs. 150/- were charged by the duo for ‘TABEEZ’ made of paper and further Rs. 1100/- were demanded for TANTRA-MANRA. They also asked the decoy to bring her photograph next time. Immediately, a raid was conducted and the two cheats Asfaq and Vishakha above were apprehended. While Asfaq was sitting on the floor posing as a ‘BABA’, Vishakha acted as receptionist. Several slips, photographs of customers, several other pictures/photographs, posters written in Arabic/Urdu language and other items have been recovered from their possession.

A case of cheating and relevant provisions of Drug and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act has been registered and both the accused persons have been arrested.

INTERROGATION/INVESTIGATION

During sustained interrogation, accused Asfaq revealed that he is engaged in this business for one and a half years and he does not possess any qualification / degree with respect to Astrology/Horoscope reading etc. He further disclosed that they used to advertise about themselves through newspapers and by publishing pamphlets etc and used to change their working address after every 2/3 months. Vishakha used to work as a receptionist and used to attend the clients who visited them with any personal problems. They were later on taken to ‘BABA’ (TANTRIK) who used to demand money in the name of curing them for solving his/her problems through TANTRA/MANTRA, TABEEZ etc.

Further investigation / interrogation is in progress.

  2. Vishakha w/o Pawan Kumar r/o H.No. 714, Gali No. 14 Karigar Colony Mukundpur, Delhi is married and has two children. Her husband is doing private job. She has studied up to class 10th. To earn easy and quick money, she joined Asfaq and assisted him in this illegal business.

INTERSTATE AUTOLIFTERS ARRESTED

With the arrest of two accused persons namely Rakesh @ Pinku Distt. Kangra, Himachal Pradesh and Udho Ram r/o Distt. Kangra, Himachal Pradesh, South West Distt. police has busted a gang of car thieves involved in the car thefts in different parts of Delhi and recovered 3 luxury cars.

In order to curb incidents of car thefts, special teams were formed for apprehending auto-lifters. A team comprising of Inspr. Satvir Singh, ASI Hawa Singh, HC Bijneder, HC Balbir Singh, Ct. Ishwar Singh and Krishan Kumar was constituted under the close supervision of ACP Hansraj and SHO Vasant Kunj who developed information regarding some auto-lifters. On 17.6.08 at about 8:30 PM a Wagon R bearing Regn. DL4C-AE-4551 No. was stopped for checking. The two persons sitting in the car were asked to show the papers but they could not produce any documents. On verifying from record, it was found that the car was stolen from PS Vasant Kunj on 2.5.08. These persons were identified as Rakesh @ Pinku & Udho Ram both r/o Himachal Pradesh. A case FIR No. 239/08 u/s 379 IPC PS Vasant Kunj was registered.

On sustained interrogation they informed that they used to steal cars and give them to Sanjay, Dev and Sanjay @ Giddu who used to then dispose them in Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Guwahati, Jammu & Kashmir and Assam etc. through one broker. Dev is at present in jail in car theft case from PS Vasant Vihar area. Sanjay, Rajender and Sanjay @ Giddu are absconding. The accused have also confessed their involvements in three more cases of luxury car thefts.

Further investigation is in progress.

RACKET INVOLVED IN SUPPLY OF PIRATED VCDs BUSTED : PIRATED DVD MANUFACTURING UNIT UNEARTHED : 1358 MP3 AUDIO CDs, 1435 DVDs SEIZED.

INTRODUCTION:

With the arrest of a person namely Brijesh @ Nikku, aged 26 years, S/o Balbir Singh, r/o Budh Vihar, Delhi, Crime Branch, Delhi has unearthed a pirated DVD manufacturing Unit and seized 16 DVD writes, 1358 MP3 Audio CDs and 1435 DVDs.

INCIDENT & TEAM:

Based on a complaint given by Sh. Suresh Kaushik, Investigator, the authorized person on behalf of The Indian Music Industry (IMI) that some persons are indulging in wide spread nefarious trade of circulating pirated MP3s, DVDs in the market. On 18.06.2008 a team consisting of SI Kuldeep Singh, SI Rajpal, HCs Rajbir Singh, Laxman, Pramod, Raj Kumar, Sunil & Cts Anand, Rajesh led by Insp. Akashay Kumar under the close supervision of Sanjay Tyagi ACP/ Anti Robbery Cell, Crime Branch was constituted which carried out a raid at H. No. C-10 Azad Colony, Budh Vihar, Phase-II, Delhi, where a person namely Brijesh @ Nikku, aged 26 years, was found preparing pirated MP3 and DVD’s through 16 CD writers. On checking of the said premises 1358 pirated MP3, 1435 pirated DVDs were recovered which were identified as pirated by Sh. Suresh Kaushik, Investigator, the authorised person on behalf of The Indian Music Industry (IMI). A case FIR No. 406/08, dated 19.06.2008, U/s 63/64/68A Copy Right Act, has been registered at PS Sultan Puri, Delhi.

INTERROGATION:

During the course of investigation the accused person was put under sustained interrogation, who disclosed that previously he ran a milk dairy but could not earn sufficient to make both the ends meet. He came in contact with Chetram, Raju and Sonu who lured him into the business of sale and purchase of pirated CDs. The three persons used to supply him inlay cards etc. He used to get blank CDs and master CDs from Lajpat Rai market and used to make copies of newly release movies on recovered CD writers/copiers. He is in this trade for the last three months. He had been selling these pirated VCDs to persons who are interested in cheap MP3 Audio CDs, VCDs and DVDs in weekly markets. Further investigation is in progress to nail the supplier and to expose the racket involved in wide circulation of the pirated CDs which is harming the distributors and other persons involved in circulating a film and hard earned money of general public.

ASSOCIATE OF DESPERATE ROBBERS ARRESTED : SENSATIONAL CAR JACKINGS CASE OF DELHI CANTT SOLVED

INTRODUCTION:

With the arrest of a person namely Darshan Singh Bhatia @ Ladi aged 25 years s/o Sh Paramjeet Singh Bhatia r/o H. No B-1 Vishwas Park, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi the Crime Branch has solved two cases of car jacking of Delhi Cantt area. The Police team has also recovered 2 robbed mobile phones from his possession.

INCIDENT & TEAM:

An information was received by the Special Team of Crime Branch that desperate robbers Gurprit Singh @ Lali s/o Sh Jasbir Singh r/o WZA-15/16 Udai Vihar, Chander Vihar, New Delhi, Mukesh Mark Disuja s/o Sh Adgar Mark Jon r/o H. No WZ- 298, 80 Yards Khajan Basti, Tilak Vihar, New Delhi (BC of PS Tilak Nagar)and Dimple s/o Sh Jasbir Singh r/o RZ-81 Vishnu Garden, New Delhi are involved in various robberies/car jacking cases of West and South-West District and one Darshan Singh Bhatia @ Ladi is also their associate. This information was shared with West District Police. On this information, sources were deployed and they were checked at their probable hide outs. On 18.06.08 information was received that Darshan Singh @ Ladi will come to Bhagwati Vihar C block, Uttam Nagar New Delhi at about 3.00 pm to meet his other associates. On this information, a raiding party comprising SI Shiv Darshan, HCs Pardeep, Rishi, Cts Sanjay, Sher Singh, Satish and Ct Raj Kumar, led by Inspector Raj Kumar under the supervision of Shri Dharamvir Gupta Assistant Commissioner of Police, Special Team Crime Branch was constitutedand deployed near transformer Bhagwati Vihar, Uttam Nagar, New Delhi.

At about 3.00 pm Darshan Singh @ Ladi came near transformer, Bhagwati Vihar, Uttam Nagar and was waiting for some one. After some time he tried to slip away from the spot the alert Police team overpowered him. On his search three mobile phones were recovered

INTERROGATION:

During sustained interrogation he disclosed that his other associates are Gurprit Singh @ Lali s/o Sh Jasbir Singh r/o WZA-15/16 Udai Vihar, Chander Vihar, New Delhi , Mukesh Mark Disuja s/o Sh Adgar Mark Jon r/o H. No WZ- 298, 80 Yards Khajan Basti, Tilak Vihar, New Delhi and Dimple s/o Sh Jasbir Singh r/o RZ-81 Vishnu Garden, New Delhi. Mukesh Mark Disuja is a BC of PS Tilak Nagar. They are criminals and had robbed one Swift Dezire, two mobile phones at night time at gun point from one businessman from Delhi Cantt area about twenty days ago. He further disclosed that Dimple and Lali had robbed a Wagonr car in night time from the area of Delhi Cantt he had joined their company recently. They had told Darshan about these robberies and robbed mobile phones were given to Darshan for sale. Recovered two mobile phones are found to be robbed with Swift Dezire car vide FIR No 198/08 u/s 392/34 IPC PS Delhi Cantt, New Delhi. Further investigation is in progress.
