President’s Message
Hi Everyone, The year is almost over! I hope you all had a fun year of riding! There are so many horse events going on it’s hard to keep track of all of them. I do want to welcome back Ivy Murillo who took a hiatus to have a beautiful little boy. Ivy will be our new Area 6 Director and Scribe for C22! Welcome back Ivy! We are so lucky to have you! On September 19th we had our Trail Plan Meeting at Susy Ellinger’s lovely ranch! A very special thanks goes to Susy for hosting the meeting. Susy spoiled us with a delicious salad and ice cream, besides all the pizza you could eat. Wine and beer was served to accompany the cuisine. We did put together a fun 2014 Ride Schedule, which will be out soon!
On October 13th Tiffanie Bailey and Paul Anderson planned a fun pack trip for us to Mount Pinos. Tiff packed in her beautiful buckskin paint. It was a very cold brisk morning when we headed out to the majestic mountains with breathtaking views everywhere. At our lunch stop, we had not only wine and cheeses, but an interesting assortment of appetizers all laid out on a table including a table cloth. Becky George helped with the packing and Katheen Ungamrung brought in some delicious desserts. We have to do this again some time guys! Thanks again!
October 27th we are having the Malibu Creek Ride led by Paul Jacques. We are looking forward to hearing about the ride in the December issue.
November 21st is our election meeting at Mi Casitas. Please come join us and see what we are all about. Please let me know if you will be attending.
Nov. 24th is our Simi Valley Ride. This is a new ride for us and is being put on by our new member Tom Smart. We are looking forward to hearing all about the new ride..
December 14th is our annual Christmas Party hosted by Al Pechulis. This party is open to all full members and their guests. We have plenty of room at our ranch is you wish to spend the night. We always have a great time, enjoy a live auction and go home with treasures. Each person brings something western for the auction. It is a potluck, so bring your special dish. Beverages are provided for the guests. We will also try to have a keg of beer this year.
December 22 is our Christmas Ride. We will be riding to the park next to the Greek Theater in Griffith Park.. This ride is open to adults only. Come join us for a delicious hamburger lunch and Tina’s famous potato salad. Don’t forget Walt’s famous brownies!
