presents the 2013“Bring on the Magic”Softball Tournament

Rules and Policies:
1. Registration and Documents
a. Team check in will be 30 minutes before the first tournament game for each team. Please do this at the concession stand. Please provide a contact cell phone number so the Tournament Director, Kevin Collins, can contact your team if necessary.
b. A complete team roster should be turned in at check-in. A copy of proof of insurance and proof of age will be required on each player but not required to be submitted. Please be able to provide this information if requested by the Tournament Director.
2. Rain Policy
a. The Tournament Director reserves the right to change the format of the tournament in the event that it is shortened due to inclement weather.
b. If the tournament is rained out completely, 80% refund will be refunded.
c. Team Managers are responsible for staying in contact with the Tournament Director in the event of inclement weather. Kevin’s cell number is 262-617-8968. Weather delays will also be posted on the internet on the website at
3. Player Eligibility
a. We will use ASA age cut offs for this tournament.
b. No change to rosters will be allowed after the start of a team's first game.
c. Teams using ineligible players will forfeit all game and be excused from the tournament.
d. Questions regarding player eligibility may be directed to the Tournament Director. The Tournament Director's decision is final.
4. Tournament Rules
----ASA Rules will apply with the following modifications:
a. Games will consist of 7 innings or a 75minute time limit. In the case of an incomplete full inning at the 75 minute mark, the inning will continue until completed.NO DROP DEADtimes. Championship games in each age group and bracket will be 7 full innings with no time limit. Run-ahead rules will apply.
b. If the game remains tied after the time limit goes into effect and after the inning is complete, an “International Tie-Breaker” will be used. The last out from the previous inning will go to 2nd base, with no outs, and we will play until the tie is broken in bracket play. In pool play only, games will end in a tie if the score is still tied after one extra inning.
c. There will be a “run-ahead” rule. Games will end if a team is ahead by 10 runs after 4 complete innings or 8 after 5 complete innings. This rule applies to Championship games as well.
d.A continuous batting order may be used by all age groups in both pool and bracket play. This will allow for free substitutions throughout the games. This will be optional for each individual team. If not used,the EP(extra player) may be used. If the EP is used, all ten on the starting lineup must bat and any nine of those ten play defense. The EP may be substituted for by a player yet to enter the game. An EP must be identified as being used prior to the start of the game. No penalty for a player who leaves the game due to injury and is removed from batting order. But once she is removed from the batting order, she cannot re-enter the game.
e. Teams must have a minimum of 8 players to start the game.
f. Only ASA approved bats may be used.
g. Helmets must be worn by all base runners and on deck hitters. Bat boys/girls must wear helmets if the leave the dugout.
h. Players warming up a pitcher must wear a helmet and mask.
i. All umpire and Tournament Director’s decisions are final. No protests will be allowed.
j. In order to maximize play, pitchers will be allowed 3 warm up pitches between innings and 5 in the first inning.
k. For pool play, home and visitor team will be determined by a coin flip before each game with team coming from farthest distance calling the flip. For bracket play, the home team will be the higher seeded team.
l. Courtesy runners, the last girl to make an out, are allowed any time for the pitcher and/or catcher.
m. Pool play standings will be used to determine seeding for bracket play.
5. Sportsmanship
a. It is the responsibility of the team Managers to control their players, parents, and fans.
b. Umpires and/or the Tournament Director reserve the right to eject any player, coach, or fan from the tournament at any time.
c. Poor sportsmanship by a player, coach or fan may result in a game forfeit or team ejection from the tournament, with no refund.
6. Special 10U Rules
a. Teams must use a continuous batting order in pool play, batting all players present for the game. Free defensive substitutions allowed at any time during the game. A continuous batting orderis not required during bracket play.
b. Scoring Limit – 7 run rule: A team that is tied or ahead at the start of an at bat, can only score 7 runs during that at bat. A team behind at the start of an bat can only score enough runs to go ahead by 7 runs during that at bat.
c. No penalty for a player who leaves the game and is removed from batting order. But once she is removed from the batting order, she cannot re-enter the game.
