Business:Inventory of council member interest
Council member handbook
Nomination of treasurer
Dr. John Leventhal to receive the Dr. Ray Helfer Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds / Laura distributed the council inventory and member handbook.
Nina Livingston was nominated to serve as ‘member at large” on the executive committee. A proxy vote will be taken. LA/DL
The award to Dr. Leventhal was announced.
Public Education:
Finalize discussion focus and questions for community meetings
Review list of proposed hosts and identify others who should be invited to the discussions
Select three meetings to be facilitated by the CT Forum
Create an ad hoc committee of council members to work on the round-table / Doris led a discussion on the community meetings.
The list was reviewed. The group decided that the CT Forum should facilitate the first three meetings or those requested by the hosts.
A committee was not formed to work on the round-table.
Fund-Raising:
Review list of possible foundations to approach
Discuss next steps and time table / The list was reviewed and various strategies were discussed.
The campaign will begin after the first of the year.
Events:
Fatherhood study presentation and RFP announcement in January Event to be held on January 18, 2011 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Old Judiciary Room at the State Capitol.
Kinship Fund dinner and award event in New Haven in February / Events were announced.
