2. Team Activity.

Migrant Workers - Less activity in the Mapesbury area and very little change over the last 6 months. Operations continue (one-two days every 5-6 weeks). Seasonal activity so influx of workers not expected to stop but is being managed well. Vans are being targeted/vehicles seized as a means to reduce activity.

Arrest on Kilburn High Road. Cash/card stolen from machine. Intel lead, car apprehended and stopped. Stolen card found in vehicle and all three occupants arrested.

Contacting the SNT. PCSO Ajay Dhokia now has access to the SNT mail inbox. Best way to contact SNT and report crime in the area is to email (digital paper trail). Suggestions from panel for SNT to send a brief confirmation when receiving email.

Anti Social Behaviour.

·  Continuing problems at Stanley Gardens/Blenheim Gardens, generally caused by youths; also handling issues. TSG and Police gangs unit visited site. Gates expected to be installed in front of Cassandra Court.

·  Cedar Road / Larch Road. Youths playing loud music from vehicles early morning. Ongoing low level ASB – patrols are being conducted; no perpetrators identified as yet, no reports for the past few weeks. Street camera (originally on Chichele Rd) has been placed on Larch Road – residents are aware.

3. Ward Crime Summary.

All crime. Activity still focused along the main road. Cigarette theft issue around Brent.

Burglary. Very low in last 3 months. No pattern and sporadic. Usual activity around the A5.

Robberies. Low – 3 in 3 months. Willesden however has had a significant increase in robberies.

Motor Vehicle Crime. A marked increase in theft from motor vehicles. Police operations take place a couple of times a year. Leafleting campaign planned to raise awareness when have resources. Vehicle theft occurrences (cars, vans and the most popular – mopeds). Problems of youths on mopeds riding through park/estates – only TPAC (Tactical Pursuit and Containment) officers can effectively pursue and arrest. Patrols are in order to deter, however very little can be done. Ongoing issue.

Begging issue along the Broadway – to be issued with a warning first, repeated/aggressive begging to result in arrest. Any issues to be reported via Mapesbury email mailbox. People advised not to give to beggars.

4. Future Priorities for next 3 months

·  Anti Social Behaviour – General and Beggars

·  PSPO – Ending in November 2016

·  Robbery prevention

5. AOB

Value of Neighbourhood Watch discussed. Sgt sceptical of effectiveness; and must avoid vigilante activity as residents’ lives can be put at risk.

Smartwater currently being promoted by probationary officers in the area; Gerry to let people know. Cocooning visits are now conducted by the response team.
