PARENT’S INFORMATION SHEET

DROP OFF

Drop off is on July 19 at 8:00pm Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in at 625 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA.

We are gathering at 8:00 PM on Monday, July 19. It is important to be there at 8:00 to sign in, receive last minute instructions and to have questions answered. The leaders are planning activities to help the group get to know each other. Please be on time!!!

COMMUNITY GUIDELINES AND MEDICAL FORM

Please bring with you the signed Community Guidelines and Medical form. We will collect these on Monday evening. The Guidelines and form are included and can be found on the Presbytery website. www.presbyphl.org

TRAVEL

We are traveling by coach bus. The bus is equipped with comfortable seats and a restroom. The bus company is Werner Bus Company out of Phoenixville which has a very good reputation for providing safe and comfortable transportation. In compliance with regulations we will have 2 bus drivers to make sure the driving is shared and that no driver drives too long. Safety is a priority. The trip to Purdue will take between 12 to 14 hours.

FOOD

There will be meal stops along the way. On the trip out to Indiana the group will stop for breakfast and will have lunch just before registering. These will be fast food meals. The meals are paid for by the Presbytery. Each participant will be allotted an amount per meal. The leaders will let them know how much per meal. On the trip home they will again eat locally or just outside of West Lafayette for lunch and another meal stop for dinner.

SNACKS

Participants may bring snacks for the bus trip. Think about bringing enough to share with others – more fun and helps build the community. Bottled water is an appropriate beverage to bring. We would like to discourage drinks that cannot be closed ( example soda in a can) because they can easily spill and nobody wants to deal with a sticky mess. A grocery bag for trash would also be a great idea.

COMING HOME

The very tired but enthusiastic youth and leaders will be leaving around 11 am on Saturday, July 24 and traveling all night to Philadelphia. They are to be picked up at Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church in at 625 Montgomery Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA (where you dropped them off). They will arrive in the wee hours of Sunday morning, July 25 between 1am and 2am. Your youth will call you when we are about an hour out with an estimated time of arrival. All advisors will have a cell phone.

If you have worked out a carpool for picking up the youth you might want to talk with the youth and make sure they know which parent or driver to call. You don’t need to wake up everybody.

SELF ADDRESSED ENVELOPES

If you want to hear from your youth while they are at Triennium, self addresses stamped envelopes are highly recommended.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES

May be brought but participants are responsible for any loss items. Phones, ipods or mp3 players are not to be used during large group activities and during worship they should be turned off. We are here to be a community and if some participants are plugged into something else we all lose out on engaging fully in the Triennium experience. If a participant is using the devices excessively they will be asked by adults to refrain from use.
