Zelienople, PA 16063SUMMER 2015

Greetings Presbyterian Women of Beaver Butler Presbytery. Harrah!!! It’s finally spring or summer, but it is not snowing. I hope that all of you now have your new directories. Many were distributed at the Spring Gathering at the MillcreekChurch in April. It was an inspirational meeting when we skyped Rachel Ludwig in Niger and the Jen Haddox spoke to us about a program that works with seminarians in mission trips and programs. Many thanks to Millcreek for their gracious hospitality.

I am glad to see that Mary Rae Thompson, our Vice-Moderator, and three other ladies are going to the Gathering on June 18-21 at Minneapolis, MN. Pray for traveling mercies and for a blessed trip. Looking forward to fall, but not real quickly, we will be enjoying our Fall Retreat, Sept. 18-19 at Camp Kono-o-kwee; and if you have never attended, plan on going, it’s a great experience, fun, food, and fellowship. Margaret Boyer will be letting you know about our Mission Trip in Oct.

Right now we are looking for some of you nice ladies to join the CT (Coordinating Team). We meet only four times a year and you’d be “right in the thick of things”; sounds exciting, no? Well, not only is it exciting, but you would be a blessing to all of the women of the presbytery. Please, pray about joining the team, and then call me, 724-378-2951 or email . Have a blessed and safe summer and remember, “God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good!”

God bless you.

Gwen

Following so many natural disasters recently Church World Service (CWS) is very low on the following kits to provide to those affected. They are especially in need of the Hygiene kits.

School Kits: one pair blunt metal scissors (round tip), three 70 ct. spiral notebooks, one hand-held pencil sharpener, one box of “24” crayons, one 12” ruler, one large eraser, six new pencils w/erasers, 14” x 17” cotton or light wt. canvas bag with cloth handles.

Processing/shipping cost: $2.00/kit and should be sent to: Church World Service, P.O. Box 968, Elkhart, IN 46515.

(The kits may be sent on the bus to New Windsor in October)

NEWS FROM THE “ARTISAN MARKETPLACE”

There are often new items at the store, especially after Mary Rae has made a trip to New Windsor to help with a sale! Stop in and browse (and buy)!

The store will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during HORSETRADING Days, July 16-18. I am recruiting sales people to work for three-hour shifts: 9:30-12:00; 12:00-3:00; and 3:00-6:00. If you are able to help, please call me at 724-776-8324. This is one of the big sale events we have, and it is possible only because many of you sign up.

Ruth Keith (724-368-3379) coordinates the calendar for our church and “out-of-the-store” sales. Plan to host a sale at your church, and get your preferred date to Ruth ASAP. If you have never had a sale at your church, consider hosting one.
