Location: Sydney or Canberra
Primary purpose of this position: / Manage project registrations, variations and eligible interest holder consents.
Prepare services and sale contracts for new projects.
Conduct legal due diligence on new carbon farming projects.

As one of Australia’s largest and most experienced carbon farming project developers, Climate Friendly helps land owners and land managers to unlock economic, social and environmental value through improved management of Australia’s land.
This includes more than 100 partnerships with farmers, agribusiness and Indigenous groups on carbon farming projects. We have already delivered more than 5 million tonnes of carbon abatement through our Australian carbon farming project portfolio since 2015, worth around $60 million to our landholders based on average market prices.
We have a proven track record, with a large and growing portfolio of land-based projects across a wide range of methods, land types, land tenures, and geographies.
Key outcomes/ accountabilities: / Include but are not limited to:
  • Preparing and managing submission of project registration packages, including client information forms, project registration paperwork and ANREU account forms
  • Preparing service and sales contracts, and assisting in monitoring contract deadlines
  • Preparing eligible interest holder consent packages and managing day to day liaison with interest holders to obtain consents
  • Preparing and managing submission of project variation requests
  • Tracking carbon credit issuance and delivery against contract milestones
  • Conduct legal due diligence on new carbon farming projects
  • Maintaining Climate Friendly’s legal advice and contract registry
  • Assisting to maintain project records, including updating the file naming protocol and file structure guideline
  • Day to day management of the correspondence inbox

Selection Criteria -
KnowledgeSkills & Experience: / Include but are not limited to:
  • Tertiary qualification in lawpreferred.
  • Background or experience in environmental science / management desirable.
  • Experience managing complex tasks and delivering against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to solve problems, prioritise workload and provide advice to manager.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a remotely based team and to work independently with minimal supervision.
