Welcome

Call to Worship (Psalm 24:7-10)

Minister: Lift up your heads, O gates! And be lifted up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in.

People: Who is this King of Glory? The LORD, strong and mighty, the LORD, mighty in battle!

Minister: Lift up your heads, O gates! And lift them up, O ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in.

People: Who is this King of Glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of Glory!

Opening Hymn: #300 “All Glory, Laud and Honor” (vv 1, 2, 3)

Corporate Prayer of Confession

ALL:

O King of Glory,we confess that our praise of Your majesty has often been faint, our performance as citizens ofYour kingdom treasonous. For we have surrendered to the enemy by our secret and our known sins. For our treason You died, Lord Jesus. For our restoration, You rose again. Draw us closer to You in this holy week, that our eyes may catch the vision of Your tears, and our hearts, the wonder of Your grace. By the Holy Spirit’s continuingdiscipline, let us be loyal and loving servants of the King. Praise be to You, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

(A time for silent confession and musical meditation)

Assurance of Pardon (John 3:17)

Minister: For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. The peace of the Lord be with you always.

People: And also with you.

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

New Testament Readings:

John 12:12-16

“The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying out,“Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,“Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your King is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!” His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written aboutHim and had been done to Him.”

Colossians 1:19-20

For in Him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of His cross
