Student Declaration
This deed is made on the date set out at Item 1 of this Schedule 2.
By the Student (Item 2)
In favour of:
Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology ABN 49 781 030 034 of 124 La Trobe Street, Melbourne (“RMIT”); and
The Organisation (Item 3) (“Organisation”)
I agree and acknowledge that:

- I will undertake and comply with the particulars of the placement, project or activity (the ‘WIL Activity”) (Item 4) for the Term (Item 5).
- The purpose of the WIL Activity is to obtain experience, training and skills which is a component of the Program (Item 6) and is undertaken within the workplace setting relevant to my area of study (the “Discipline”) (Item 7).
- I will comply with both RMIT’s statutes, regulations, policies and procedures and the Organisation’s policies and rules regarding workplace behaviour, discipline, occupational health and safety and equal opportunity whilst undertaking the WIL Activity.
- I will liaise with RMIT and the Organisation via the RMIT WIL Activity Practitioner (Item 8).
- I will not communicate, publish or release any confidential information, which includes personal information (as defined by the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic)) and health information (as defined by the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic)) of an individual or of the Organisation and will keep all information (including any third party/client/patient information) strictly confidential.
- Where required, I will apply for and obtain any necessary licences, approvals, police checks, working with children checks or registrations necessary for the WIL Activity and provide evidence of the same prior to the WIL Activity.
- I am encouraged to inform both RMIT and the Organisation if I have any medical condition or disability that may affect my work performance and require reasonable adjustments by the Organisation and RMIT during the WIL Activity.
- At the completion of the WIL Activity, I will return to the Organisation all of its property and documents in my possession.
9.I acknowledge and accept that if I create any materials, plans, designs, drawings, models, prototypes, structures, products, specimens, software, reports, research projects, documents, publications or communications containing new intellectual property (“Intellectual Property”) during the WIL Activity, the Intellectual Property shall (subject to the licences granted to both RMIT and Students under the Relationship Agreement between RMIT and the Organisation), vest in and be owned by the Organisation.
10.For the purposes of this Deed, I understand that Intellectual Property means any of the following: copyright, patents, rights in circuit layouts, registered designs, trademarks, the right to have information kept confidential and all other rights resulting from intellectual activity in industrial, scientific, literary or artistic fields created during the WIL Activity.
11.If I create any Intellectual Property,the Relationship Agreement provides that the Organisation grants me a non-exclusive, transferrable, irrevocable, royalty free licence to use and reproduce the Intellectual Property for the purpose of the following works created by me:
a.assignments
b.projects
c.thesis
d.my curriculum vitae; and
e.my portfolio.
12.To the extent permitted by law, I hereby consent to the use or reproduction of the Intellectual Property without attribution of authorship to me and even if such use or reproduction results in derogatory treatment for the purpose of the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).
13.I will register with RMIT’s Global Experience Office and comply with the requirements prescribed by it where the WIL Activity is outside Australia.
14.I acknowledge and accept that:
a.verification of my identity as signatory to this agreement is determined by reference to my email address; and
b.my email address used to electronically send this agreement provides the nexus to properly identify me.
