Pre-Written Email Series

Pre-Written Email Series

The following pre-written email series is designed to be sent to new subscribers after they join your list. After they opt in to get your free gift, send them these emails, so that they can get to know, like, and trust you – and become paying clients!

Because we want these emails to go out automatically after someone subscribes to your list, be sure to set these up as autoresponders and not broadcasts. In AWeber autoresponders are called “followups” and in MailChimp you set up the emails under “automation.”

The emails are designed to promote an initial consultation with you, at the end of which you will share how they can work with you one-on-one. If you don’t want to promote private coaching, you can modify these emails to make another offer.

As with any “done-for-you” template, make sure to edit and customize each email so it represents you and your personality. You always want what you write to be completely honest, so if anything in the emails doesn’t reflect your situation, be sure to modify it.

This email sequence has 7 emails to be sent over 11 days. While this may feel like a lot, it’s a perfect balance of communication to new subscribers. Remember that people are most interested and engaged in what you offer right after they’ve opt-ed in. And keep in mind that not all of these emails are promotional.

How to give access to your free gift:

If your free gift is a PDF, you’ll need to link to that PDF in emails 1, 2 and 4 below. There are a few ways to provide a link to your free gift.

If you are using MailChimp:

While you can’t attach files to emails in MailChimp, you can upload files to their server and link to them within the text of your email.

For more information and step-by-step instructions on how to do this, click here.

If you are using Aweber:

Aweber will allow you to attach files up to a total of 1MB to your emails.

For more information and step-by-step instructions on how to do this, click here.

What if my file exceed the maximum file size allowed by my email marketing system?

While it’s unlikely that your free gift will be too large to send through your email marketing system, it is possible. For example, Aweber only allows you to attach files that are under 1MB. If your free gift is larger than this, we recommend that you upload your file elsewhere and link to them within your email. This is quite easy to do and we’ve provided instructions below.

Below are a few recommendations, along with instructions, on where you can upload files.

·  Dropbox

With Dropbox, you have the option of downloading Dropbox to your desktop and using it from there OR using it exclusively through the website. The participants who you are sending the files to do not need to have a Dropbox account in order to open and download the files.

For instructions on uploading files to Dropbox, click here.

For instructions on obtaining a link to files in Dropbox to include in your emails, click here.

Once you’ve uploaded your files to Dropbox and obtained the link to your folder or files, you can insert that link into your emails.

·  Google Drive

If you have a Gmail account, you automatically have access to use Google Drive. As with Dropbox, you have the option of downloading Google Drive to your desktop and using it from there OR using it exclusively through the website. Also as with Dropbox, your subscribers do not need to have a Google Drive account in order to open and download the files.

For instructions on uploading files to Google Drive, click here.

For instructions on obtaining a link to files in Google Drive to include in your emails, click here.

Once you’ve uploaded your files to Google Drive and obtained the link to your folder or files, you can insert that link into the emails.

·  WordPress
If you have a WordPress site, click here for instructions on uploading files to WordPress.

(Use the instructions under the heading “To Upload a File for Later Use”.)

Once you’ve uploaded your file, you can click on it to bring up more details. In the details screen, you will see URL with a link next to it. You can copy and paste this link and insert it into an email.

Setting up an online calendar:
In the emails that promote the free consultation, I HIGHLY recommend that you link to an online calendar because it not only saves you from emailing back and forth with potential clients, but I find that people are more likely to take immediate action when they can pick a time and date right then and there! I use TimeTrade for my online calendar, but there are loads of inexpensive online scheduling systems that you can sign-up for.

The goal of this email is to create a personal connection and build the “know, like, and trust” factor by sharing your story. There’s a sample story below, but of course customize this to your story. If you don’t have a personal story about what brought you to this work, you can share what you’ve experienced with clients. If you are sharing a personal story, be sure to share details about your struggle and then how you overcame your struggle and the specific changes/results you experienced. This is also the first email where you make an invitation for a free consultation.

Subject options:

·  How I went from [insert your previous weight] lbs to [insert your current weight] lbs

·  How I lost xx lbs

·  How I went from loathing my body to loving it!

·  How I won the battle over dieting!

Hi firstname,

One of the biggest concerns people have when it comes to “eating healthier” is that they don’t want to feel deprived…and they don’t want to subject themselves to eating foods they don’t like.

I get it. I used to feel the same way. I tried numerous diets that didn’t work. And let me tell you, it was NOT a fun process!

I embarked on every new diet imaginable, feeling excited and optimistic, thinking “This time it will work!” Each time, I was left feeling defeated. My cravings and hunger always took over…and I gained back all the weight I’d lost, every time.

[Add your before & after pics here if you have them. This is optional but VERY powerful so I highly recommend it. If you don’t have before and after photos, I recommend including your photo in this email to build a stronger relationship with your new subscribers.]

Personally, I love good food, and I could never stick to diets that removed treats and caused me to feel hungry.

Since these diets never worked, I’d often beat myself up and was left feeling like there was something “wrong” with me.

Finally, one day I came to the realization that it wasn’t my fault. The simple truth is that by nature, diets don’t work. Deprivation doesn’t work. Starving yourself doesn’t work!

In your heart of hearts, I’m guessing you know this already.

What I finally discovered is that I can eat incredibly delicious, satisfying foods, while eating healthy.

I also learned that there are particular foods that not only taste amazing, but also help me lose weight by balancing my hormones and boosting my metabolism — because without both of these important pieces, any diet you try will never work. Your body will always fight back.

Everything I learned, I now teach my amazing clients…I show them how simple and EASY it is to lose weight, while fueling your body with nourishing, delicious foods.

And this is exactly what I’d love to show you.

I don’t want you to keep feeling frustrated by your own body. I don’t want you to be at the mercy of your cravings anymore.

That’s why I’d like to offer you a complimentary 30-minute Nutrition Strategy Session. I’ve opened up slots on my calendar for over the next couple of weeks, and I’d love to speak with you during one of them.

Click here to book your free session>

During this call, I’ll help you determine how best to achieve the results you want, WITHOUT feeling like you’re sabotaging yourself anymore. You’ll get a personalized action plan to help you reach your unique goals.

Warmly,
your first name

Email 4: send 3 days after email 3

The goal of this email is to make the offer again, while providing some content.
Subject options:

·  Can I help you lose weight?

·  The #1 most effective way to burn fat

·  The REAL Key to Losing Weight (See Inside!)

Hi firstname,

(If you forgot to download it, you can grab it here.)

Now you might be wondering about your next steps…

I’d like to offer you a complimentary 30-minute Nutrition Strategy Session with me.

During this session we will:

·  Discuss your current situation, what's working well and what challenges you're experiencing

·  Get clear on your specific health goals

·  Zero in on 1-2 recommendations for next steps

This 30-minute session is intended for people who are tired of depriving themselves of food they love…and who are ready to start feeling fabulous, even while eating amazing food.

Click here to book your free session>

BONUS TIP: In my experience, the most effective way to drop fat is NOT to take away the foods you like — but to ADD IN nutrient-dense foods to your existing diet. When you do this consistently, your body starts to incorporate these nutrients, your hormones start getting back into balance…and everything changes for the better.

By adding in the “good stuff” (and trust me, this can be delicious, satisfying foods), your body will begin craving more of the good stuff on its own…without you even thinking about it. Your body will suddenly no longer want the bad stuff. Cravings will be erased, and you’ll naturally gravitate to better, healthier food.

Psychologically, it’s much easier to eat something “extra” than it is to take something away — especially if it’s something you love.
