When you are absent from class:

  1. When you return you need to check the appropriate box for your class. This will contain any missed work that will need to be made up and turned in and also any graded assignments that were handed back while you were absent.
  2. Copy any missed notes from other classmates. If there was a powerpoint lecture, I will provide you with a copy of the notes.

Excused Absences
It is the sole responsibility of the student to arrange make-up work for excused absences within two school days of the absence. The teacher will determine an appropriate time frame for the student to complete the make-up work. Failure to complete this work within this time frame will result in zeros as grades for these assignments.
Unexcused Absences

As stated in Frederick County Public School's Regulation 500-25, "students have the right to make up class work missed and to have this work reviewed and evaluated by the teacher. Credit will not be given toward a grade for this work. Students have the responsibility to request make-up work within two (2) days of their return to school.

Grading Policy:

  1. Each class assignment receives a specific number of points. The student’s grade is determined by dividing the number of points earned by the total number of points possible and then multiplying by 100%.
  2. Students should keep their graded papers as records of all of their scores. Students and parents can check the grades on-line. If you do not have access to the internet, I will provide you with a copy of your grades.
  3. Assignments will include: Labs, tests, quizzes, classwork, homework and projects. The notebook will be collected and graded during the semester.
  4. Grading: 100-90 A; 89-80 B; 79-70 C; 69-60 D; 59-0 F
  5. The Titan code of Honor will be followed in Small Animal Pre-Vet. Please read and follow the Titan Way in the student planner.

Homework:

All homework assignments are a continuation of a process started in class, practice with the concepts in class or preparation for an activity that will follow the next day. I expect homework to be completed each evening that it is assigned. Homework is due when you come into the classroom and will not be accepted late.

Tutoring: Students needing additional help or making up work can stay after school. Labs need to be made up within one week after the lab is completed in class. It is your responsibility to make up any missed work.
