GRADING

  1. Daily Grades (50%):

A. Assignments- Homework/Classwork

Homework will always be due the following day, unless otherwise noted. All assignments must be turned in ON TIME.

Assignments will be graded for completion and/or accuracy. Several assignments may be grouped together or combined with a quiz to count as one grade.

No Work = No Credit!! For a question to be accepted as complete, the work leading to an answer must be shown, step by step, in an organized way. Correct answers without supporting work will not receive credit.

If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to obtain missed assignments and notes. Assignments that were due the day you were absent are due the day you return.

B. Quizzes

There will be 2 – 3 Quizzes per week over the material covered in our journals and homework.

Most quizzes are announced ahead of time and also posted on the Website Calendar.

Quizzes must be completed within the time allowed, and there are no retakes!

  1. Major Grades (50%):

A. Tests

All tests are announced ahead of time and posted on the Website Calendar.

The Tests will cover material from our notes, homework, quizzes, and previous tests.

Tests will contain both multiple choice and free-response questions. Students must show all work, even if the questions are multiple choice.

Tests must be completed within class time. No additional time will be given.

Students will be able to make up a failing test grade up to a 70%, excluding Six Weeks Exams and District Benchmarks. In order to make up a test, the student must first attend tutorials to complete Test Corrections/Error Analysis within one week of receiving their grade.

B. Projects

Projects are worth 100 pts.with a 10 pt. deduction for each day it is late. After 3 days a zero will be recorded for the grade.

Projects may require the students to complete additional work outside of class time.

Absences

 If a student is absent, it is their responsibility to obtain missed assignments and notes. Assignments that were due the day you were absent are due the day you return. Students have one day, for each day absent, to make up all missed work.

 If a student is absent for a Quiz or Test, they will need to make it up on the day they return or a zero will be recorded for the grade.

** CHEATING, in any form, will result in a ZERO for that grade!**
