Preferred Admission Criteria:

2.5 or better cumulative grade point average
For Pre-Major Status admission: minimum of 30 semester credits transferable to the HSM major and demonstrated interest in health services management field
For Major Status admission:
  • Minimum of 45 semester credits transferable to the HSM major
  • Prerequisitesfor admission completed(or in progress)with minimum grade of C-: Intro to Microeconomics, Intro to Statistics, Intro to Accounting, Public Speaking, Personal and Community Health, and Health Sciences Terminology

Graduation Requirements:

Completion of at least 120 semester credits, including at least 50 upper division credits

Completion of all preparatory, prerequisite, Liberal Education, and major coursework/requirements

In addition to the first-year writing requirement, you must complete four writing intensive courses.
Two of the writing intensive courses must be taken at the upper division level, one of which must be taken in your major.

2.0 or better cumulative GPA and C- or better in all major requirementsand prerequisites for admission

At least 30 semester credits completed at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities (UMTC) campus
75% of credits taken on the UMTC campus must be taken on the A/F grading basis
Senior Year Rule: 15 of the last 30 credits must be taken in UMTC campus courses
Minimum of 24 creditstaken as a student admitted to the major
