Prayers of Intercession – 11/26/17

P) Welcoming God’s reign of righteousness and mercy, let us pray with people of every time and place.

A brief silence.

A) Almighty God, your merciful rule encompasses all the world. As we gather for worship in safety, we pray for places where the church is persecuted. Watch over your people as they witness your good news. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

A) Give bountiful pastures, safety, and health to herds, livestock, and all animals. May our care for all of your creation reflect your shepherding love for all that you have made. Lord, in your mercy,

hear our prayer.

A) We pray for international organizations that shine your light in places of strife. Lead relief and aid workers, leaders and volunteers to seek the lost and provide safety. Lord, in your mercy,
hear our prayer.

A) Bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, abused, or ill (especially those on our prayer list). Give wisdom to counselors, doctors, nurses, and all in professions that provide healing.
Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer

A) Lord of love and comfort, hold the families of the faithful departed in your arms, especially the families of Harold Weisner and Michael Sakasits. May they all find peace and well-being in knowing that you welcomed their loved ones into your kingdom of eternal life.

Lord in your mercy, hear our prayer.

A) Shepherd your churches to welcome the stranger and immigrant in our midst. Call all your people to welcome, clothe, feed, and visit those in need just as you have provided for the lost and despairing throughout the ages. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

A) Bless those who celebrate birthdays this week, especially Lawrence Laub, Mildred Steltz, Sophia Stemko, Victoria McAteer, Christa Frederick, Barbara Birnie, Ethan Sanner, Jeffrey Wetzel, and Lester Miller. May you continue to send blessings for each of these members for all the days of their lives. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

A) Remembering this week-end of Thanksgiving, may your example of love, forgiveness, and understanding be what we strive to follow. May we recognize your blessings with honest appreciation and strive to forgive all who have hurt or offended us with words or actions, understanding that it is only by living your word and example that we can hope to one day enter into your eternal kingdom. Lord, in your mercy, hear our prayer.

P) Receive these prayers and the hopes and concerns of our hearts, O God, as we entrust into your loving care all for whom we pray, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
