Project:

“Alternative speech system for quadriplegic patients”

As part of our final year project, I was involved in developing an alternative speech system which helps caretaker to assist a quadriplegic patient with his basic needs. We developed the system using a PIC micro-controller (PIC16f877). A voice chip (APR9600) was used to store the voice commands and these commands were selected upon pressing of a touch sensitive switch. The commands could be transmitted to the caretaker through a RF transmitter.

Fields interested in:

Microcontrollers based applications, embedded systems design, PID control systems and Sensor systems.
