Objectives

  1. Understanding the AutoContent Wizard.
  2. Getting familiar with different views and panes.
  3. Opening and working on a blank presentation.
  4. Formatting and editing in PowerPoint.
  5. Presenting the Slide Master.
  6. Inserting and editing tables, clip arts, pictures, diagrams, and motion paths.
  7. Incorporating transitions and animations.

Auto Content Wizard

  1. PowerPoint Window – explanation.
  2. Tool bars: title, menu, standard, and format.
  3. Moving the formatting tool bar and the bottom tool bar (four-arrow pointer).
  4. More buttons option.
  5. Presenting the slide pane, outline pane, note pane, and the task pane.
  6. Presenting the views: normal, outline, slide view, slide sorter, and slide show.
  7. Changing from one view to the other and changing the size of the view.
  8. Moving slides in the slide pane (placement line). Deleting slides.
  9. Slide sorter view:
  • Displaying the slide: double click on the slide.
  • Deleting slides.
  1. Close this file.

Open a blank presentation.

  1. Type a title: PowerPoint.
  2. Changing the background: colors and fill effects.
  3. Change the font color.
  4. Type title by using word art.
  5. Show several format options.
  6. Explain the use of white, yellow, and green circles located at the border of the text box.
  7. Use the shadow settings menu.
  8. Inserting another slide. Choosing a slide type: title with text.

Inserting a new slide:

  • It does not keep font color.
  • It does not keep the font type.
  • It is better to use the Slide Master.
  • Brief description of the Master slide. Changing bullets and fonts: size, color, and pictures (bullets)
  1. Moving the textbox in two ways: manually and with the arrow keys.
  2. Adjusting the size of the text box.
  3. Editing from the outline pane or the slide pane.
  4. Editing text in the outline and the slide pane.
  5. Highlighting words and sentences.
  6. Moving words in the outline pane and the slide pane (right click on the highlighted text).

Slide Master
  1. Inserting another slide with the following text:

  • It affects all slides after editing it.
  • You can change the following:

-Background and color scheme.

-Design template.

-Date, footer, and slide number positions.

  1. Deleting and replacing placeholders:
  2. Replace them by using common task – Master layout (right click on Slide Master).
  3. Or delete placeholders, right click on the slide, and select Master Layout.

3. Moving the placeholders.

4. Showing the Title, Handout, and the Note Master.

5. You can change: color scheme, background, or apply a design template.

Inserting Tables

  1. Making tables from the slide layout.
  2. Adding information to tables.

Incorporating Visual Elements (create 3 slides)

Creating slide transitions and animations

  1. Applying transition to slides.
  2. Animation Scheme (apply to selected slides).
  3. Use slide transition: allow you to modify speed, advance slide, and apply to all slides.
  4. Applying animation to text, pictures, and graphics.
  • Use present animation.
  • Use Custom Animation.
  1. Assigning time to each slide

  2. Using motion paths:
  3. Create three circles with different colors.
  4. Custom animations  Add effect  Motion Paths.

Note: first, apply transition to slides; second, apply transition to text and graphics, and third apply timing to each slide by using slide transitions.

Sequence of transitions and animations:(slow speed for slide transitions, fast speed for titles andtext).
