Web Gradebook Login - Foxfire Instructions:

Firefox is the recommended browser.

Click on "for Staff"

You will be asked for your Network User Name and Password

Once here, bookmark the URL for quicker access:

http://powerschool.lmsd.org/teachers/pw.html

Enter your LMSD Network Username.

The password default is the last 6 digits of your SS number. This can be changed once you login.

The 1st screen: This would be the same PowerTeacher on the web you had access to in previous years.

Clicking on a backpack, selecting a student, and using the "Select screens" menu displays these choices:

To access the Gradebook:

Click on "Gradebook"

Click on "Launch Gradebook"

Click "OK" to let the script run:

This icon will appear somewhere on your desktop

Authenticate screen appears – select "Trust"

The PowerTeacher logo appears on the screen and the PowerTeacher logo appears in the dock

The PowerTeacher logo appears in the dock

Shortly the gradebook appears.

Wait as the gradebook loads.

You see the "PowerTeacher Gradebook" icon in your dock.

Use this icon to access the gradebook, not the browser icon.

Windows:

You must have Java installed to access the PowerTeacher. Java is not installed automatically. Go here to install Java if needed. You may also need to select Java to automatically open the PowerTeacher.

When first installed, you may see either

Log into this address using your LMSD username for both the username and the password.

The 1st screen: This would be similar to PowerTeacher on the web. Under the backpack Attendance, quick Lookup etc.

Clicking on a backpack, selecting a student, and using the "Select screens" menu displays these choices:

Click on "Gradebook" (6th down on the left)

The following screen appears:

Click on "Launch Gradebook". This downloads a Java file to your desktop.

An alternative is to click on "Click here" This brings up the following screen:

Clicking on "Launch Gradebook downloads the java file to your desktop.

The Gradebook does not launch automatically, you need to locate the Java icon and double-click it.

Locate the file somewhere on your desktop and double-click it to launch the gradebook

Shortly you will be asked to trust this-select "Trust"

The Gradebook PowerTeacher logo appears on your screen and the icon appears in your dock. Once the gradebook loads, you will use the icon to access it should you switch screens.

Wait as the gradebook loads. You will also the "PowerTeacher Gradebook" icon in your dock. Use this icon to access the gradebook, not the browser icon.
