The PPH Neighborhood Association meets at 6:45 PM, on the third Wednesday of the month at the South Side Neighborhood Center
Common Acronyms
NRC=Neighborhood Revitalization Commission: This is a City of La Crosse board, made up of selected recognized neighborhood association members , along with the Mayor and other institutions in the community. Together they work towards revitalization the neighborhoods of La Crosse. PPH treasure/Past President and City Council Member Phil Ostrem is a member of this board.
LNDC=La Crosse Neighborhood Development Corporation: This group has been in a strategic planning phase, but poised to soon be a nonprofit group in the City of La Crosse that will be available to assist the neighborhoods of La Crosse with housing and economic development projects, improving neighborhood livability and marketing the city as a great place to live.
JDC= The Joint Neighborhood Development Corporation (official name is the Gundersen/City of La Crosse Neighborhood Development Corporation) was created by the City of La Crosse and Gundersen Health System with the mission to improve the Powell-Poage-Hamilton Neighborhood on the south side of La Crosse, Wisconsin. The JDC Board of Directors, comprised of the Mayor, two City of La Crosse Council members and three Gundersen Health System Executives. Each entity contributed $250,000 to the organization for the creation of a catalyst development to provide the Powell-Poage-Hamilton neighborhood with a block redevelopment project including a needed grocery store and safe housing.
