Note: Post-holder will be required to work on Mondays
AIMS OF POST
- Share some of the Responsibility for the day-to-day Management of the Young People’s Therapy Service
- To play a key role in the delivery of the agreed strategies for the young people’s service
- Assist in Managing the delivery of the clinic and school based services
- Line manage an agreed number of the YP therapists
- Play a role in the development of new aspects of the young people’s service
- Manage specific aspects of individual psychotherapy case and other project work
- To take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Harm Prevention Program
- To take a lead in the development and delivery of User Participation groups
CLINICAL
- Case manage a clinical load of therapy clients
- Attend and contribute to clinical supervision sessions
- Responsible along with the senior service coordinator for all referrals coming into the young people’s service
- Responsible for the monitoring of all clinical outcomes within the project
- Implement effective inter-agency practice - ensuring good lines of communication between therapy and the client’s support network
PROJECT MANAGEMENT
- To work in joint-partnership with key stakeholders in the delivery of service
- To implement effective monitoring and evaluation of the service’s strategic aims and objectives
- To participate in external evaluations into young people with learning disabilities and violence prevention
- To design and promote publicity and accessible literature that advertises the project across various communities and sectors
- To establish key links with new partners and to promote the service within the learning disabilities field
- Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with the Child Protection guidelines and polices
- Prepare reports and other documentation for trustees, funders, partners and stakeholders
TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
- To help devise and deliver training seminars for professionals, family members and carers
- To help devise and deliver training courses for professionals on children and adolescents with learning disabilities, trauma, violence, psychotherapy and education and harm prevention
LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Line manage a number of the young people’s therapists
GENERAL
- Work to Respond’s policies and procedures, particularly in regard to Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality and Child Protection
- Attend staff meetings
- To demonstrate professional accountability at all times
- To practice within the professional codes of conduct as laid down by the UKCP
