Poster & Presentation Grading Guidelines
Each group is required to make a poster displaying the information they collected during their group projects. Posters will need to be a minimum size of 1 sheet of poster board, but can be displayed on a large piece of cardboard or a tri-fold project board.
Each poster will need to include the following so print or bring in any materials necessary for class on Monday, November 29th:
1) Project Title – Large print on top.
2) Problem you had you solve.
3) Hypothesis
4) 2 Pictures of you doing your experiment (provided by Ms. Carrier)
5) 1 Table giving your data.
6) 1 Chart or graph (bar, circle or line)
[Microsoft Excel makes really colorful charts and graphs for anyone who knows how to do this.]
7) 1 Statement of Conclusion – can be up to three sentences.
8) Group Member Names
This poster is worth 50% of your presentation/project/test grade and will calculated as follows:
Criteria / 10 Points / 7 Points / 4 Points / 1 PointOrganization / Very organized, clear information and presentation / Somewhat organized. Some info unclear / Arranged oddly and unclear flow of information. / Needs more time and effort next time.
Colorful / Lots of color & things added to poster – Way to go! / Few colors – mostly marker. / 1 color other than black & white. / Needs more time and effort next time.
Completeness / Meets every requirement. Good job staying focused. / Almost got it – unclear descriptions of a few items. / Missing a little bit. Parts not completed properly or at all. / Totally not complete – missing a lot
Creativity / Awesome! Where did you come up with that? / Good job – next time combine your great ideas! / Didn’t you do this last time? / Needs more time and effort next time.
Correctness / Great Spelling and description of parts of your project / Some spelling errors. All parts done correctly / Lots of errors and problems with parts. / Needs more time and effort next time.
In class presentation of your science project to the class is also worth 50% of your project/presentation/test grade. All members MUST participate! Grading will be evaluated as follows:
