Postdoctoral Fellowship in Aging and Mental Health

A postdoctoral fellowship opportunity is available with Dr. Marnin J. Heisel, Director of Research in the Department of Psychiatry in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. This fellowship position has an initial duration of one year,with the possibility ofextension for up to two additional years. This position is available to begin immediately, and recruitment will continue until it is filled.

Applicantswill ideally possess a Doctoral Degree inPsychology or a related mental health field, and be eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.The successful applicant will ideally possess research and clinical experience working with older adults in mental health or community settings, and have interest in suicide prevention.The successful candidate will have strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

This fellowship offers 100% protected research time, includingfor time spent assisting with or coordinating research studies and co-supervising research staff and trainees. It isideal for the individual who wishes topursue an academic and/or clinical research career in aging and mental health.

This position is full-time and provides a salary of $50,000. Travel funds are available to present study findings at scientific meetings and conferences. The successful candidate will be eligible to apply for research seed funds through the Department of Psychiatry and affiliated research institutes, and to access educational opportunities through Western University.
