If the School makes an enquiry on your behalf about the result of one of your examinations after your provisional unit &/or subject grade has been issued, there are three possible outcomes:

  • Your original mark may be confirmed as correct, and there will be no change in your grade.
  • Your original mark may be raised so that your final grade may be higher than the original grade you received, or the grade may remain unchanged.
  • Your original mark may be lowered so that your final grade may be lower than the original grade you received, or the grade may remain unchanged.

In order to proceed with the enquiry or appeal, your parent or guardian must sign the form below. This tells the Head of Centre that you have understood what the outcome might be, and that you give your consent to the enquiry being made.

Prices include an administration fee of 20%Fees are refunded if a grade for a unit is revised up and for all relevant units if the aggregate grade is revised up

In some instances a copy of the script can be requested at the same time as requesting a re-mark

Deadlines: Priority (PEAR):GCE 24 August /GCSE 31 August Standard (EAR): 21 September

Script only (for teaching and learning purposes): 28 September

  • A priority view of marking cannot be requested if a priority photocopy of the script has already been requested
  • Enquiries about results cannot be made if a request for the original script has already been made
  • 7th September is the “Date by which centres should receive priority copies of scripts to support enquiries about results” (JCQ)

NB This is after the deadline for requesting priority services but still allows a standard review of marking.
