Primary Objectives:

The purpose of the role will be to cover existing fundraising commitments, develop potential fundraising opportunities from within the community and to raise the awareness and profile of the DVLTincreasing support both in the short and longer term. You will need to manage and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of fundraising stakeholders as well as cross working with the wider fundraising department.

Key Tasks and Main Duties:

  • Challenge Events – manage all enquiries and fundraisers. Research local and national events and obtain testimonials for website and press releases. Oversee Just Giving and Virgin Money Giving pages. Invite fundraisers to visit the School for Parents.
  • Third Party Events – Attend outside events to promote the DVLT. Events include:
  • Billingshurst Show
  • Friends of Ingfield Fete
  • Sparks in the Park
  • Loxwood Joust
  • Horsham Pancake Race
  • Southwater Christmas Festival
  • Brighton Marathon
  • DVLT Events – To organise and attend:
  • The School for Parents Family Fun Day
  • Victoria Station Collection
  • Horsham Street Collection
  • Easter Egg Hunt
General
  • To open and close the Southwater shop as required. Collect weekly takings and support the Shop Manager as required
  • To be involved with the DVLT’s social media activities
  • To build on existing and develop new relationships with individuals, schools, organisations and businesses within the area
  • To identify existing professional and organisational groups, research new groups and make presentations at their meetings
General (cont)
  • To assist supporters where necessary in the planning, preparation, marketing and action of fundraising activities, including any PR and media requirements
  • To place promotional information, including event posters, in the community and maintain to ensure material remains current
  • To place collection boxes in the community and keep accurate records of each location
  • Answer telephone enquiries, website emails and write thank you letters as required
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained within the Salesforcedatabase and establish a system of regular contact
  • To work with the fundraising teamon larger events and large company initiatives
  • Ensure all Gift Aid opportunities are maximised
  • To undertake talks, cheque presentations where necessary, dealing with any relevant banking and acknowledgements including cash handling
  • To assist in developing marketing materials that encourage support and raise awareness of the DVLT
  • Attend local networking events

Other
  • To maintain a standard of dress code that is appropriate to the role
  • To attend regular team meetings and undertake relevant training when required
  • To identify and motivate people to be involved in giving voluntary and financial support where possible
  • To ensure all practices meet statutory legislation requirements including the Data Protection Act.
  • To undertake any other activities reasonably required.
