Day Care Worker Job Description

We are seeking experienced and committed care workers for our daily activities which provide opportunities for people to come together and enjoy a variety of social and therapeutic activities. We operate our own centre and additional activities in the wider community including registered club for older people, a club for clients with enduring illnesses, and drop in clubs which are open to all.

Post: Day Care Worker x 2

Salary: £8.66 per hour

Location: Giffnock, East Renfrewshire

Closing date: 11th May 2018

About the role:

The successful applicant will work day shift only Monday-Thursday 9-5 and Sunday 12-5 and they should:

  • Have relevant experience in a social care or health care setting but this is not essential.
  • Be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative and flexible and enthusiastic in carrying out a range of duties. Ideally have a SVQ2 in Social Care or equivalent, or be willing to work towards it.
  • Be able to carry out Care Plan duties (full training will be given) as required by the Day Care Manager.
  • Work as part of a very friendly team of paid staff and volunteers. Have an interest, or an interest in learning about the cultural attributes of the Jewish Community (training will be provided).
  • You will take part in mandatory training opportunities.
  • A clean driving licence with D1 entitlement and willingness to drive a minibus is essential.
