Post:Chief Executive Officer
Responsible to: The Trustees of Axis Counselling
Purpose of Post:To provide strategic leadership and overall responsibility for all aspects of the functionsprovided by Axis Counselling, including financial, management and delivery of services.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Governance
- Work closely with the Trustees and Management Committee to develop Axis’ strategy, policies and business plan and ensure they comply with all the current law and regulations
- Ensure all policies and plans are up to date and reported on regularly
- Build an effective working relationship with the Chair of Trustees
- Support the Trustees in developing their long term vision and goals
- Play a leading role in future strategy and policy
Public and Stakeholder Relations
- Provide the public face for the organisation, build and develop good working relationships with stakeholders, politicians, the media and business’s and wider communities
- Represent the organization at external events and publicity opportunities
- Develop and implement a marketing strategy that promotes and develops effective relationships with key audiences and partner organisations
Financial Management
- Is responsible for the maintenance of a sustainable income stream
- Deliver the organizations business plan ensuring appropriate contracts are successfully bid for and delivered effectively
- Ensure a sustainable income from individuals, corporations, legacy and trust donations
- Must develop and maintain a working relationship with the funding organisations to secure future funding opportunities including potential partnership working with appropriate organisations
- Responsibility for ensuring the preparation of an annual budget for approval by the Management Committee
- Operate within the annual budget
Service Delivery and Development
- Ensure consistent delivery of high quality services and develop quality outcome measures
- Analyse and plan potential areas of growth or development to diversify the Charity’s services. E.g. training, work in schools, prevention, group work and appropriate additional services and opportunities for clients
- Manage organisational and service data and information requirements to ensure effective use for funders, Axis Counselling and its future direction
- Interpret publicly available data as a tool to inform current and future service delivery
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting to funders is delivered according to any requirements of contracts
Leadership and Development
- Ensure effective systems are in place and maintained for the recruitment, management, training and development of all staff and volunteers
- Promote, maintain and develop organisational culture and values consistently throughout the organization
- Provide inspirational leadership to the management team, and support, direction and supervision for staff reporting directly to the CEO
