Position Title:Work Center Operator – Overhaul

Status:Hourly - Weekly

Reports To:Production Supervisor

General: An entry level production person under the direction of the Production supervisor hired and trained to manufacture finished goods per AMSAFE blue prints and procedures. They should be a high energy, self motivated, personable individual who can work well with technicians and other operators. They should have an exceptional work ethic, and a high attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and assist in enforcing all company policies and procedures.
  • Required to maintain Overhaul standards and follow procedures outlined in the repair station process specification, repair manual 33196, operational procedures, and the for the repair station manual and quality control Manual (RSM/QCM)
  • Actively participate in sustaining 5S activities to maintain a safe and organized work center.
  • Know how to locate material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Through training the operator will be able to read and understand AmSafe blueprints, work instructions and specifications, and test procedures.
  • Disassembly and cleaning of restraints removed from aircraft service, and re-assembly of AmSafe components and restraints in accordance with standards defined in work instructions, blue prints, and specifications.
  • Understanding of routing operations and sign off procedures when performing routing operations.
  • Ensure that all dimensions are within tolerance and no key dimensions or assembly operations are missed.
  • Required to follow all company polices.
  • Required to follow all manufacturing procedures.
  • Other responsibilities can be assigned as needed.

General Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish Preferred
  • Required ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
  • Must also be able to add and subtract whole numbers.
  • Must be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
  • Continuous light physical effort and manual dexterity.
  • Working with and moving materials, not to exceed 40lbs.
  • Must be able to use and understand measuring devices such as Go-No-Go Gauges and measuring tapes.
  • Knowledgeable of and can run the equipment and tools in the work center.
  • Be able to identify assemblies and components listed on the pick lists and blueprints, and make sure that all lot/serial control is documented.

Training / Certification Required:

  • NIDA Approved
  • Sewing experience in programmable patterns and straight stitch preferred
  • Trained in and knowledgeable of all work instructions used in the work center.
  • Training in blueprint reading, and in reading and interpreting specifications.
