- Purpose of the Position:
Supply Chain Monitoring and Logistics support to COs for (Emergency)
- Major Duties/Responsibilities
a) Provide support to UNICEF Country Offices remote and on-site technical support and guidance for supply chain management and logistics planning through coordination with Regional Supply and Logistics, Operations/Program sections.
b)Support UNICEF Country offices to ensure compliance with regulations, cost-effectiveness and efficiency of logistics operations in view of effective emergency program implementation, with focus on supply chain management, overall in-country logistics, forwarding, transport, and warehousing.
c)Ensure the strengthening of proper warehousing practices of UNICEF supplies at Country Office and regional level including effective monitoring systems of the movement of supplies in and out of the warehouse, in alignment with corporate systems related procedures and practices.
d)Conduct and participate in rapid emergency assessment and evaluation missions, as required, and actively participate in common logistics efforts.
e) Coordinate, monitor and, when needed, manage the activities of the regional Supply hubs (Call forwards of supplies, replenishment processes, performance monitoring) and related services (forwarding, UNHRD, transport).
f)Coordinate within Regional Office and liaise with UNICEF Country Offices, other offices in the region and Supply Division on all matters related to logistics for emergency-related aspects.
g) Contribute to the development, adjustment, stabilization and roll-out of planning and monitoring tools at regional and CO level as well as sound data analysis practices.
h) Promote the utilization of good information management and data analysis tools at regional level, including RUTF pipeline monitoring.
i) Attend internal Emergency related meetings and for a on behalf of WCARO Supply Section.
j) Perform any other related duty as required.
- Key Expected Results
a)Effective on-site and remote technical support to COs in supply and logistics planning, management and tracking (focus on Emergency and post-Emergency countries) including sharing of best practices and planning/training tools/systems under development.
b)Capacity building on specific Supply and Logistics related aspects pertaining to Emergency preparedness, response and phase out including improved CO command of corporate, systems and processes
c)Effective management of the regional emergency stockpiles including rapid deployments and replenishment processes;
d)Active contribution to regional capacity building efforts and coordinated emergency response at regional level (and with SD where needed);
- Qualifications of Successful Candidate
Education:
Advanced University Degree in transport or logistics operations/management, supply chain management, information management or other related field and relevant work experience
or
First university degree with relevant field experience in logistics, data management and possibly CO support/capacity building.
Work Experience:
At least five years of practical experience in managing/supporting supply and logistics operations involving planning, organizing, coordinating, implementing, supply tracking and monitoring as well as training/capacity strengthening and advisory support.
Field emergency experience desirable. Regional experience considered a plus.

- Current knowledge of the latest developments and technology in the field.
- Ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
Languages:
Fluency in French and good command of English is required.
