2.Purpose of Position

  • To work alongside the General Manager Marketing to develop a compelling brand story executed through our people, the customer experience and our marketing communications which drive quantifiable improvements in advocacy, brand preference and access to new markets.
  • Work alongside teams internally and within the Marketing team to ensure that Brand Guidelines are followed and messages are aligned to strategy.
  • Drive marketing campaigns that meet specific organisational goals and create positive impact.

Accessing new markets and added value solutions

  • Work with the General Manager Marketing to assess new value-add solutions for key audiences and new market segments.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Regularly review the brand architecture to ensure the Blind Foundation brand is still relevant with key audiences.
  • Develop programmes of work that bring to life the core elements of the brand.
  • Develop engaging programmes that drive awareness and action amongst key target audiences to deliver against the business and strategic plans.

Campaigns

  • Lead Marketing Campaigns in support of key organisational objectives, including but not limited to Low Vision, Reaching More People and Brand Awareness.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage the campaign process from end-to-end, through modelling, piloting, proposition and campaign.
  • Work with the Research and Insights Manager to establish current state and from that develop initiatives to drive improvement.
  • Take the lead on public awareness campaign marketing, targeted toward Blind and Low Vision awareness, education or selling our new or current service offering.
  • Monitor business results to identify opportunities for new campaigns in specific market segments.
  • Provide analysis and feedback on the success of campaigns and incorporate learnings into future planning.
  • Utilise a multi-media approach and liaise with advertising agencies as needed.

Brand consistency

  • Ensure quality and consistency of branding is maintained and accessibility guidelines are adhered to for any publication produced by the Blind Foundation.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide brand support to the Digital & Web Manager with content for theBlind Foundation website and intranet,and social media.
  • Support the Fundraising team to manage, protect and enhance the Blind Foundation's brand through their activities.
  • Develop, maintain and educate a set of Brand Guidelines for our key brands.
  • Ensure key publications for clients and members are on brand and deliver on key propositions and offerings.

Relationship building

  • Identify, build and maintain internal and external relationships to compliment the marketing function.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for growing and enhancing key relationships that will provide value to the Blind Foundation, and in support of the Marketing team.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that the Health and Safety Policy is upheld and requirements are met

6.Person Specification - Qualifications, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Attributes

Essential

  • A Communications/Public Relations or Journalismqualification or equivalent
  • Highly skilled practitioner, with minimum of five years’ experience in PR/Communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to produce lively, accurate work
  • Exceptionally well-organised
  • Knows how to manage time, changing priorities and sharp deadlines
  • Experience in working with media, design and print agencies
  • Achievement and results orientated
  • Great at planning and problem-solving
